Background
On June 17, 1972, five men were arrested for breaking into the Democratic National Headquarters, located in the Watergate complex in Washington, D.C. The investigation that ensued implicated the highest levels of the Nixon administration in potentially criminal wrongdoing. Before it was done, the Watergate Scandal would lead the disgrace and resignation of President Nixon, and the conviction of some of his top aides.
