About Pharmacist Support

Pharmacist Support is the leading independent welfare charity for pharmacists and their families, former pharmacists, pre-registration trainees and pharmacy students. Our free and confidential services include financial assistance, a stress helpline, debt, benefits and employment advice, addiction support and an information and enquiry line.

The Charity has provided a lifeline to those who, through circumstances often beyond their control – personal illness, disability or other life changing events - have required help and assistance. This has been provided in many formats, on a short or long-term basis and is specifically tailored to the individual’s circumstances.

Pharmacist Support values diversity and promotes equality. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

The Wellbeing Project

The Charity has received a generous legacy and will be using these funds to develop and deliver services dedicated to tackling the issue of stress within the pharmacy profession in Great Britain. A survey of our target groups has been conducted and as a result of the findings, the Charity wishes to carry out a pilot of a range of services. The initial focus of the pilot project will be the delivery of nine wellbeing workshops to pharmacists, preregistration trainees and pharmacy students. In the future, further services may be considered in the areas of one to one telephone counselling and a higher level occupational health typeservice.

The job roles

The Charity is looking to recruit a full time project manager and an administrator (from 25 hours up to full time) to develop its exciting pilot wellbeing programme. These services willcomplement the range of free and confidential services the Charity currently provides.

Both posts will be based at our Manchester office, located in the city centre.

The posts are for an initial fixed term of 15 months.

Both posts will work closely with each other as well as with other staff members of the charity. The post holders will coordinate a pilot of nine wellbeing workshops across Great Britain, targeting a variety of groups within the pharmacy sector. The work will involve liaison with external organisations, universities and suppliers, the coordination of delegates and the collation of data for independent evaluation, audit and analysis.
