Wanted Poster or Commemorative Plaque
Points Possible: 100
Each student will be producing a written historical biography of a selected World War II figure along with a placard that depicts that person’s characteristic. The figures are divided by Heroes and Villains based on what side of the war they were on. The following instructions will need to be followed:
- My historical figure - ______is a HERO / VILLAN
- Research and write a 1- 2 page, double spaced, 1-inch margin, 12 font biographical report on your figure. Your report should cover that person’s early life, educational background, career before the war, position or relevance to the war effort, military position held, countries conquered, what makes them a villain or a hero, specifics to fighting the war, etc.
- All sources must be documented with a works cited page at the end of the report. You will need to use at least 2 different types of resources. Do not plagiarize.
- Creating a wanted poster or hero commemorative plaque: If your person fought on the Axis side, you will be creating a wanted poster. If they fought on the Allied side, you will be creating a Commemorative Plaque. Each poster must included the following:
- A sketch of what the person looked like. Can be computer generated or hand drawn.
- If villain: A reward amount listing the specific crimes or heroic actions the person did during the war if a villain. The reward amount needs to fit the importance of your specific character.
- If Hero: A list of heroic actions your person is likely remembered for doing in the war.
- A made-up quote from a person living at the time showing what the people at the time might have said about this person.
- The approximate date this poster would have been produced.
- Must include additional artistic impressions to make it look as authentic as possible.
- Must include at least 4 colors.
- Must be produced on 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper. No exceptions!
