JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: / Co-facilitator Unusual Experiences – Sessional WorkerGrade & Salary: / London Living Wage ( £9.75 ph)
Hours of work: / 3 hours per week
Line Management Reports: / 0
Accountable to: / Facilitator Unusual Beliefs
Functional Responsibility: / User engagement and recovery
Job Purpose: / To contribute to the recovery of individuals who hear voices and co-run the Unusual Beliefs programme in Wandsworth’s psychiatric Wards and in-house
Main Responsibilities:
- To provide flexible and responsive support, based on the needs and aspirations of service users that promote recovery and social inclusion.
 - To co-run groups in order to support the development of the Unusual Experiences Groups
 - To work with service users to identify goals and how to achieve them
 - To work with service users to facilitate access to appropriate services to progress their growth and recovery
 - Review and reflect the recovery journey with the service users using the Mental Health Warwick Edinburgh Wellbeing Scale and other base line surveys as required by WWM.
 - Together with the Facilitator keep detailed records of the work and ensure all groups run are periodically evaluated
 - To co-run groups in order to support the development of the Unusual Experiences Groups
 - Contribute to forward planning for the project
 - To be aware of, and follow the procedures of, Wandsworth’s Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
 - To contribute regular monitoring and reporting on the service
 - To promote equality and respect diversity at all times
 - To comply with all policies and procedures instituted by Wandsworth & Westminster Mind and participate as an active member of the Wandsworth and Westminster Mind community.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- In depth understanding of the issues faced by people who hear voices/experience unusual beliefs
 - Broad understanding of mental health issues
 - Can show commitment by using own experience of mental health and treatment
 - Clear understanding of the principles and practice of Unusual Experiences Groups
 - Understanding of user empowerment and user involvement
 - Understanding of equal opportunities with particular emphasis on how it applies to users of mental health services
 
GENERAL DUTIES
- To participate in team meetings, external forums and any other meetings as required
 - To be accountable for all aspects of your work to your line manager through supervision
 - To undergo such training as is consistent with the satisfactory performance of the post
 
REPORTING
- To work collaboratively with the facilitator to maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date records of the project’s work
 - To contribute to maintaining up to date publicity materials
