“Walking the tightrope between volume and value?” Webinar
The healthcare industry is in the midst of major reform and hospitals find themselves in the unstable territory of managing between the traditional fee-for-service payment model and a value based payment system. The fee for service method has created high-cost infrastructures to maintain a system based on volume. Dismantling the current structure is challenging, due to the high reimbursement needed – especially in the inpatient setting – to maintain the cost of that care. But value-based payment fails to fill the gap between reduced fees in the volume and value models. The transition is a balancing act and can be perilous.
The operational and financial risks associated with this shifting paradigm can be effectively managed with an effective Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program. Through real-time, measurable strategies, CDI enables providers to bridge the gap between clinical and financial integrity.
In this 60 minute complimentary webinar, CDI expert Dr. Anthony Oliva will share:
- Thought leadership and strategies for success, no matter where you are operating today.
- Compelling approaches to implementing CDI – in response to changing industry reimbursement models – that will help you to optimize and sustain results.
- Optimize inpatient revenue by capture of appropriate reimbursement through aligned clinical and codable documentation.
- Enhance value-based incentive payments by capturing patient severity and appropriate diagnosis for measurement.
- Accurately define the patient population you will be treating in the second curve now, so the level of severity and risk is optimized, based on the expected cost of care.
