Membership Marketing Tip: Email Subject Lines- make them relevant and informative
Did you know that 35% of email recipients open email based on the subject line alone? Make subject lines personal, informative or urgent to get people to open your emails. Show what’s in it for your recipient to open the email. So, instead of April newsletter, share the hot news in the subject line and then see if your open rates are higher!

SHRM Foundation

New! SHRM Foundation & e-Rewards
The SHRM Foundation recently launched a partnership with e-Rewards to invite our members to join their Opinion Panel to augment market research related to products and services specific to the HR industry. Because e-Rewards values the expert opinion of SHRM’s HR professionals, they have also agreed to provide e-Rewards currency to those individuals choosing to enroll, as well as a $5 donation directly to the SHRM Foundation to assist us in supporting research, scholarships and educational products designed to shape the future of HR. While the invitation is sent from an outside email address, we assure you this is not a scam. Our internal system was not compatible with the method used by e-Rewards, thus necessitating us to use a third-party contractor from where the email is being sent. SHRM members’ personal information will not be disseminated or sold.

We encourage our members to participate, since by doing so they are essentially supporting their profession. We at the SHRM Foundation appreciate your support.
New! Scholarships for SHRM Members

The SHRM Foundation will award $100,000 this year in scholarships for SHRM members pursuing degrees in HR-related fields or SPHR, GPHR, PHR or California certification. In addition, SHRM professional chapters and state councils are eligible to compete for the Certification scholarship to fund programs that promote certification. Applications may be submitted online beginning April 1. The application deadline is July 15 and all applicants will be notified of results by October 15. Please spread the word to your members and encourage them to apply. Read more and download a flyer for distribution here.
