2 / Presentation on Housing and Unemploymentby Charlene Hallal (Housing and Wordlessness Co-ordinator)
2.1 / Charlene talked about the housing and worklessness project. The project started in February last year and focuses on working with housing providers that own 100 properties or more within the borough. The project helps housing providers to support their residents with the information and support they need, specifically around benefit changes.
Action: The presentation hand out will be available on the Earls Court and Chelsea Forum website. / ASAP
2.2 / Mary suggested that the forum can explore the benefit changes further if they wanted to. She also invited people to take part in Poverty Watch. Poverty Watch aims to look at how the benefit changes are affecting people in the borough. It aims to bring together the voluntary and community to share evidence on poverty and its impact.
Action: All are welcome to attend the next Poverty Watch meeting on Tuesday 11th June.
3 / £1 million of lottery funding allocated to World’s Endand Lots Road
3.1 / Mary explained that the area has been awarded the money due to neighbourhood need. There is an allocated Lottery officer, whose name is Claudia Demuth. She explained that there is a process to follow that will happen in several stages. It is a 10 year award. In the first 18 months, the Lottery worker will be developing partnerships. During this period, no money will be made available.

Pocket arts
We are on the organising committee for the Chelsea Fringe festival www.chelseafringe.com which is taking place 18 may - 9 june across London and would love to talk to any one keen on getting involved with community gardening projects, design installations, outdoor performance etc.
We are currently working on an Open Studios festival for the Kensington & Fulham area, planned for 4-6th and 11-13th Oct, and are looking for artists, schools and colleges, community groups to take part.
Earls Court Community trust are kindly letting us use their office at 1a Nevern Place and are happy to host other organisations or enterprises. Please come and visit us! You can get in contact :
Love Food Hate Waste
Marisa is working in a project called ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ in the boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Wandsworth, Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea and she would be very interested in coming and talking to residents/community groups, giving tips on:
• Saving money on food bills
• Reducing food waste going to land fill
• Understanding food storage
If you know any other groups that would be interested in this presentation, please let her know. Everything is free and she has information booklets, fridge magnets and other materials to give away that would help people to reduce food waste. Open Age
Open Age will be running an 8 week Beginners Bridge class in partnership with the Young Chelsea Bridge Club in Earls Court, starting on April 10th. Anyone over the age of 50 living in Earls Court Ward is welcome. If you would like more information and leaflets, you can contact Swati Shah:
Time Bank Launch
There is a big launch event for the Earl's Court Time Bank on Saturday March 16th from 12-4 at the Earls Court Health and Wellbeing centre. The event is being organised in partnership with 3 local housing associations and the Earl's Court Community Trust. It is open to all local residents. The objective of the day is to celebrate the local community and to put on display what the time bank can offer the community.
