For High School Students Applying to CCAP or planning to take Dual Enrollment Courses

Special Open Saturdays

For CCAP and Dual Enrollment students, the Testing Center at Virginia Western will have extra testing hours on Saturdays, January 21st and 28thand February 18th and 25th. A testing lab will be open in the Testing Center in the basement of the Brown Library from 9am – 4pm.No appointment is necessary.

Students may also come to the Testing Center during their regular hours; 8am-8pm Monday – Thursday, 8am-5pm on Friday and 9am-1pm on Saturday. The Testing Center is located in the basement of the Brown Library. No appointment is necessary.

Prior to Placement Testing

Students must complete a VWCC online application. A student ID number will be generated once the application is completed. Students will need to have this student ID number with them in order to take the test.

If students need to look up their ID number, directions can be found here:

Note: If students continue to have difficulties they shouldcall the VWCC Help Desk at 857-7354. Their hours are 7:45am-6:00pm Monday – Thursday and 7:45am-5:00pm on Fridays.

Students will need to present a photo ID. If they do not have a photo ID of their own, a parent or someone over 18 must come check them in and show their ID.

Students need to know what part of the Placement Test they need to take. The Testing Center does not know, nor can they look up, what Dual Enrollment classes students are taking, what exemptions they have, or what tests they need to take. Students need to come to the Testing Center with that information.

Students have two chances to take the Placement Test in a 12-month period. Each part of the test takes approximately 1.5 hours. Therefore, students need to allow around 3 hours to complete both the Math and English parts of the placement test.
