BOARD OF DIRECTORS METING MINUTES

IN ATTENDANCE: CHRIS ALDRIDGE, JOHN CURWIN, JANET CURWIN, JP GUENETTE, HARTLEY POKRANT, DEB POKRANT

REGRETS: JOHN REMPEL, NORM BRUNEL

1.  CALL TO ORDER.

2.  WELCOME OF NEW MEMBERS.

3.  ADOPTION OF AGENDA. Agenda adopted as presented.

4.  ADOPTION OF MINUTES/BUSINESS ARISING. Motion made by JP Guenette, seconded by John Curwin.

5.  CORRESPONSENCE/COMMUNICATIONS: Membership forms, refund from One Insurance for policy for old drag, $100 from RM of VB for Safety Clinic, $200 from Yron Manz for advertising, Sunova Bank Statement as well as the Solara Tip Quick Stop Card.

6.  TREASURERS REPORT:

JP Guenette gave a financial report. A motion was made by JP Guenette and seconded by Deb Pokrant that he report be accepted.

7.  UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Update on Winners Choice Raffle…sold $2012.00 making our profit just over $1000.00! Thanks to everyone who sold tickets. Special mention to JP and Family who sold 15 books, Chris Aldridge who sold over 10 books and Darren Kania who sold 5 books!

8.  COMMITTEE REPORTS:

a)  ERSA REPORT-meeting hasn’t been held yet. PDF – a lot of hours have been spent preparing the trails, cleaning, signing. Poles will be ordered for the signing through Hartley and will be installed during the summer.

b)  Groomer Maintenance – Ernie is fixing some damage that was done to the stabilizing bar brusher.

c)  Groomer Shelter – Hydro was hooked up on December 28th – we now have power into the building. Waves Electrical is finishing up some small jobs.

d)  Groomer – No report from Norm. A discussion was held on what areas have not been groomed because of lack of snow. Chris read an email from Brokenhead Trail regarding some help they need with grooming the Peter Skrepetz trails as their groomer is presently down. A staking/grooming day on January 12th is scheduled to do the east and west Shoreline Trail.

e)  Trail Maintenance/Signage – All trails are now signed except for the Shoreline Trail, parts of #59 Highway plus a couple of signs missing on various other trails. Isbister Trail is open but needs some minor fixing and signing.

f)  Clubhouse Maintenance – Wolf Craft and friends(7) spent December 29th on Elk Island clearing brush, cutting firewood, general cleanup etc. The Clubhouse is ready to use…..thanks guys!

g)  Advertising – Articles have gone in the East Beaches newsletter, Birchwood Buzz and well as on the Snowman Website for the Safety Clinic and Poker Derby.

h)  Membership – There are still lots of memberships to come in. Look for hard copies coming to you in a mailbox soon if you have not sent it in yet.

i)  Website Administrator – Hartley turned in some bills for website.

9.  EVENTS:

Safety Clinic – coming up on January 26th. Check out the posters and website throughout the communities and get registered!

Poker Derby will be held on Saturday, February 23. Chris Aldridge will be heading this derby with 6 checkpoints – best 5 out of 6 cards. Check out the posters and website for information.

Fishing Derby – if you would like to see this event this year, why not head it up?
