Morrice Inter-Club Knock-out Foursomes

Three pairs from each club - played off handicap. Maximum combined handicap allowance for each pair is 42 but any pair exceeding 42 may still compete playing off 42. Format: ½ difference of combined handicaps. First round to be played on the first drawn course, thereafter there will be a re-draw in each section for Home and Away, details of which will be posted on the website. At least three alternative dates, including at least one weekend or one weekday date if requested, must be offered by the home side when arranging matches. On the day of the match, ½ hour prior to first tee time, captains shall simultaneously exchange match sheets stating nominated pairs in order of play including individual handicaps.Failure to comply with this will result in disqualification. All matches MUST be 18 holes and played to a result, no halving, until a team is two matches up, unless the Captain wishes to concede a walkover. Captains should try to re-fix date if temporary greens, or composite holes in operation. If unable to do so, agree to play the course of the day. No bucket holes are allowed. No green fee chargeable. First round to be played by 8April 2018, second round by 13 May 2018 and third round by17 June 2018. Quarter-finals to be played during July/August. Semi-finals and finals during August/September. To be played at Copthorne Golf Club on Monday 11 June 2018. Two pairs from each club played off handicap – maximum joint handicap allowance is 42, maximum individual handicap 28. Players with handicaps higher than 28 will not be accepted for this competition. Any pair exceeding 42 may still compete; but must play off 42. 18 hole stableford competitionoff ½ of combined handicap. Notes

  1. Buggies may be used by those players whose normal way of playing is with the use of a buggy for medical reasons. A medical letter is required or alternatively a letter from the Club Secretary confirming that is the normal way of playing. The use of buggies is subject to availability and also permission from the host club. Buggies may not be shared by playing partners who do not have a medical letter or letter from the Club Secretary.
  2. The Committee reserves the right to alter the playing conditions of any competition.
  3. Mobile phones may be used on the course as Distance Measuring Devices and for accessing the R&A Rules app. Phones should be set on “silent” and may not be used to send text messages or to make phone calls except in an emergency. Infringement will be loss of hole in match play or two stroke penalty in stroke play competitions.
  4. Distance Measuring Devices may be used. However, the use of devices measuring wind speed, temperature, gradient etc may not be used and to do so would be in breach of Rule 14.3. The penalty for improper use: in match play is loss of hole and in stroke play a 2 shot penalty. Any further breaches will result in disqualification. Players must inform their playing partner/opponent if they are using their mobile phone as a Distance Measuring Device.
