BALDWIN CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH - ‘Planted, Rooted and Growing’

LORD’S DAY 37, Sunday, September 14, 2014

Anson Veenstra, Pastor

Welcome to Worship! We’ve been waiting for you! It’s true, because we believe that every person who comes here was sent by God himself. It’s not by accident that we have the joy of meeting you. So, above all else, we want to express our joy that you have joined us today. It is our prayer and deepest desire that you encounter the very presence of God as we worship him today. Again, Welcome!

You are invited to join us for coffee, snacks and fellowship following the service.

There are worship bags for your preschool children to enjoy, found next to the elevator in the back of the sanctuary. Please return them to the hooks after the service.

A nursery is provided for your smaller children during the worship service.

Please ask the usher or greeters if you have any questions.

TODAY AT BALDWIN CRC

9:30 a.m. Worship – As we continue our series on “Prayer” we learn that we cannot experience forgiveness if we feel we have done little or nothing that needs to be forgiven. The prayer ‘forgive us our debts’ is first of all a prayer to help us discover ours sins. It is also a prayer for the overwhelming relief that flows from forgiveness. The feeling of peace with God that flows from forgiveness brings such fullness that a forgiven person has no need for feelings of revenge. Is there anyone in your life who needs forgiveness? Do you need forgiveness? In Christ it is full and free.

The offering this morning will be received for the General Fund of our church.

Food Pantry Drive

This fall's challenge for the Sunday School students and the whole congregation is to see which team - Odd or Even - will bring in the most non-perishable items for the Baldwin Food Pantry. The drive will wrap up at our Thanksgiving Day Service. Everyone is invited to bring one or more items each Sunday and watch the piles grow.

Your team is determined by your birth year (odd or even) or, if you'd like to donate as a couple, by your wedding year. See Kelly Schoeller if you have any questions. Thanks for your support!

Join us for the CROP Walk to fight hunger in our community and worldwide. It will be held on Sunday, Oct. 5at the White Pine Berry Farm in River Falls. For information Contact Marlys Berrevoets

Women's Bible study will begin on Monday, Oct. 6 at 5PM at the home of Carol Rens. Peg Helland will be leading us this year in "The Seduction of Christianity. The lessons will focus on the "New Spirituality" that is everywhere around us. Throughout the New Testament believers are continually warned not to be deceived by spiritual teaching & experiences that are not from God. If you would like a copy explaining what we will be studying this year and the course outline you will find them on the table under the Missions board in the fellowship hall. Any questions, talk to Carol or Sue Wevers. Also feel free to invite a friend to this Bible study.

New Drum Set Update: We still have not purchased new drums yet, but we are all most to our goal. Thank you for your contributions and prayers as we proceed. You may notice that we are trying some sound control measures to see what direction we should go. If you feel led to contribute please mark your donation - drum fund - and place it in the offering plate or see Cory Van Someren for more information. Thanks!
