Before you list your mail for general delivery, you need to call the base postal service center at 213-7204 or DSN 448-7204 and give them your name and approximate date of arrival.

Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City is the closest major airport to Vance. Taxi service to Enid is available through Anytime Airport Shuttle to and from Will Rogers Airport, 24 hours a day/7 days a week. You must call (580) 233-8578 or (580) 402-0339 to make arrangements as the trip takes about 1¾ hours one-way. They will meet you at the gate with a "your name" card.

If you are traveling by car, all highways are well marked. If you are coming in on US 35 take the Enid exit and head west on US 61. Once in Enid turn left onto Van Buren (US 81) and head south. After passing Southgate road take the Vance AFB exit and continue past the right hand curve, turn left into Hairston gate. If you are coming in on US 81, turn at the Vance AFB sign just before entering Enid, go straight then turn left into Hairston gate. At the Hairston gate a visitor's pass will be issued for your vehicle if you don't already have a DoD sticker. You will need to ask directions to the Lodging Office, Building 714.

There is no "quarterdeck" at Vance; instead the Lodging Office is the 24-hour check-in location. All inbound students will report to the Lodging Office, Building 714, as soon as they arrive regardless of the day or hour. Reservations can be made up to prior to arrival at (580) 213-7358 or DSN 448-7358. If you arrive at the base during non-duty hours, interim housing information prepared by Housing Referral is available for you at the Lodging Office desk. Report to the Housing Referral Office no later than your first duty day to complete the in-processing. NOTE: This is important because you cannot sign a rental agreement or lease until the Housing Referral Office reviews the document. Single officers are required to live in on-base. All married officers must process through the Base Housing Office prior to securing off-base housing.

On Monday thru Friday between 0730 and 1600, after checking into the Lodging Office, proceed to the 71st Operations Support Squadron (Building 690) Training Flight (room 34), they can be reached at 213-6396 or DSN 448-6396. You must be in uniform (no flight suits). You will need a copy of your orders. They can assist you with all in-processing questions.
