A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Private First Class Christopher Neal White.

With deep respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Private First Class Christopher Neal White, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Private First Class Christopher Neal White was born on December 9, 1982; he grew up in Hardin County, Kentucky; and he traversed these earthly bounds June 20, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Neal White was the loving son of William and Galia White; he was the caring brother of William Michael White; he was the paternal grandson of Carrol White; he was the maternal grandson of America Amatt and Enrique Chuez; and he also leaves behind many other family members and friends who loved him dearly; and

WHEREAS, Private First Class Christopher Neal White graduated from Central Hardin High School in 2001, where he played football and participated in weightlifting; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Private First Class Christopher Neal White enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in May 2005; he was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California; he deployed to Iraq in January 2006 and was scheduled to complete his first tour of duty in August 2006; and

WHEREAS, the life of Private First Class Christopher Neal White ended prematurely when a roadside bomb detonated near his Humvee while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Private First Class Christopher Neal White valiantly served his country with honor and distinction; a memorial service with full military honors was conducted in his memory; and his awards and decorations include the: National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; and

WHEREAS, Private First Class Christopher Neal White was described as "a good kid. . . likable guy" by his father; he was also remembered by his friends as an "all round. . . outgoing person"; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has the highest respect for Private First Class Christopher Neal White and is deeply grateful for the sacrifice he made for the freedom of all Americans and his support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Private First Class Christopher Neal White has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Private First Class Christopher Neal White and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Private First Class Christopher Neal White.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the parents of Private First Class Christopher Neal White, William and Galia White, 3120 Channel Drive, Bolivia, North Carolina 28422.
