A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Margaret Belle Graves.

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves was born on November 3, 1933, in Frankfort, where she lived her entire life, and was greeted by the Lord on August 18, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves shared a joyous married life of over forty-nine years with her husband, William A. Graves, who survives her; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves’s parents, Charles Thomas McDonald and Hallie Elizabeth Hale McDonald, predeceased their daughter, and have now welcomed her with open arms at Heaven’s Gate, where they have previously welcomed their children Nora Kring, Jeanette Coleman, Geraldine McDonald, and Connie McDonald; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves has five living sisters, Mary D’Anna, Carolyn Early, Brenda Adams, Mildred Greene, and Rita Whitis, and two living brothers, Charles T. McDonald, Jr. and David McDonald; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves has joined one son, Ronald Wayne Graves, in God’s Kingdom; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves has four living children, Sharon Fincel, Regina Rigsby, Debbie Fisher, and Terry Graves; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves has two sons-in-law, Jesse Rigsby and Joe Fisher, and one daughter-in-law, Lynn Graves; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves was proud of her ten grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, while lovingly fulfilling her commitment to her family, Margaret Belle Graves also worked full-time and retired from public service after fifteen years in state government; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves loved the Lord and was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and her commitment to His service inspired her family and friends to serve the Lord; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves had many interests that she shared with her family and friends, and from which they benefited, including music, dance, decorating, and camping; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Belle Graves leaves a legacy of commitment to the Lord, her family, and her friends, and she is remembered for all the good that a life as wife, mother, sister, and friend can represent;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its deep sense of sorrow upon the passing of Margaret Belle Graves, and extends to her family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the General Assembly adjourns this day, it shall do so in honor and recognition of Margaret Belle Graves.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. William A. Graves, 621 Blade Avenue, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601; Mrs. Regina Rigsby, 260 Briarpatch Lane, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601; Ms. Sharon Fincel, 5911 Lake Huron Court, Louisville, Kentucky 40291; Mrs. Debbie Fisher, 1319 Hickory Lane, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601; and Mr. Terry Graves, 120 Seminole Trail, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
