A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Ryan Christopher Harris.

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we remember the premature passing of Ryan Christopher Harris, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Ryan Christopher Harris was born on December 23, 1983, a native of Somerset and a resident of Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, and he prematurely traversed these earthly bounds on January 5, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Ryan Christopher Harris was the loving son of Tricia Harris DellaValle and Larry E. Harris; and he was the loving brother of a sister, Lauren Harris; and

WHEREAS, Ryan Christopher Harris attended Lexington Christian Academy and the Winchendon Academy near Boston, Massachusetts, where he was active in the cross country and ski teams; and

WHEREAS, in the aftermath of the tragedy that took Ryan Christopher Harris's life on January 5, 2002, we are reminded of the grief and suffering afflicted upon his family and friends, how precious he was to his loved ones, and how his loved ones have been denied the opportunity of witnessing him reach his full potential; and we are also reminded that a life spent worthily should be measured by deeds, not years, and through his compassion and genuine love and concern for his fellow man, Ryan Christopher Harris is worthy of the highest commendation; and

WHEREAS, for a mother whose grief is beyond explanation, Tricia Harris DellaValle has turned her grief into charity, and she is channeling it into helping the Bluegrass Boys' Ranch, and into setting up two "persistence" awards in Ryan Christopher Harris's name at Somerset High School and at Winchendon Academy; and

WHEREAS, the premature passing of Ryan Christopher Harris has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
