- Highlight the problem, copy it and paste it into a new word processing document
- Highlight the 1sttwo linesand chose center align from Home: Paragraph Group.
- Highlight the entire problem, set your line spacer on 2.0and set the first tab as a left aligned tab on your ruler at ½”
- Wherever the longest item in the first column ends measure over 5/8” and set decimal tab on your ruler (make sure everything is still highlighted). Since it is a decimal tab, you will need to move it an additional 2/8” (two tick marks) so you truly have 5/8” between columns instead of 3/8”.
- Wherever the longest item in the second column ends measure over 5/8” and set decimal tab on your ruler (make sure everything is still highlighted). Since it is a decimal tab, you will need to move it an additional 2/8” (two tick marks) so you truly have 5/8” between columns instead of 3/8”.
- Equal out your left and right margins by adding the distance between 0 on your ruler and the first tab (1/2”) and the distance from where the longest item in the last column ends and 6½ on ruler. Each tick on your ruler represents 1/8”. Take the total and divide it by two (2) and that is where your first tab should be set. If you end up moving your first tab 3/8” (3 tick marks) left then you must also move all subsequent tabs 3/8” (3 tick marks) left so the distance between the columns remains equal. Make sure everything is highlighted to perform this step.
- Highlight the words Goal and Final and center them above their respective columns by moving the 2nd and 3rd tabs 1/8” right.
- To do the underline below the 2.0 and 2.7, highlight the four spaces in front of 2.0 and 2.0 and select Ufrom the Font Group. Then highlight the four spaces in front of 2.7 and 2.7 and select U from the Font Group.
