The UIC Undergraduate Student Government (USG) is the official student voice representing the undergraduate student body. USG serves as the connection between the student’s and university administration. By working on campus issues, we strive to improve student life. We are looking for determined students who are interested in being a voice for students, advocating for issues, and ensuring. Please fill out the application below and send it to the USG Vice President at r drop it by the USG office on the 3rd floor of Student Center East (Suite 397). Once you have answered these questions, indicate below your available times for your personal interview. Please list three possible times to ensure that the interviewer can accommodate your schedule.

Please email r drop off your application at room Suite No. 397 at Student Center East. If you do not know where our office is, take the staircase nearby the UIC Bookstore between BollyBrow and the Bowling Alley. Then, walk to the third floor, and we are the first office on the left hand side. If no one is present to retrieve you application, you can slip it under our door.

After the interview, you will be notified by USG on whether you have been selected to become a prospect. Once you have been accepted, you will receive signature sheets where you will go around and collect 50 signatures from your fellow undergraduate peers. Your signature sheet must be filled and completed prior to your nomination.

During those two weeks, you will be in the office living the normal life of an Assembly member and student leader. In each of the two weeks, you will have to attend six office hours, two committee meetings, and two General Assembly meetings.Serving in the Undergraduate Student Government is time-consuming, yet can be beneficial to your college experience. There are alternative positions that are available within USG that are less time-consuming. If you want more information on these positions, ask when you turn in your application

Once your prerequisites are complete, you will officially submit your intent to become an Assembly Member at a General Assembly Meeting. Moreover, at the General Assembly Meeting you will be asked questions pertaining to your application, and reasons for joining USG. The Assembly’s decision will be emailed to you within one week.
