Schedule of Classes

  • A KC progression run is offered to all G1-7 dogs. Please see separate schedule and entry form. If entering the standard KC class, then enter 3 classes only on this entry form (price discount included). Both entry forms can be sent together, and paid on the same cheque. The overall price is the same as entering 4 classes.
  • Any dogs notentering the standard KC progression class will be entered into the G0 agility class for their first run only, and their own size & grade for the rest of the 3 runs. Please enter on this entry form for 4 classes.

Steeplechase / These classes are intended for dogs from 15 months, veterans, and dogs that are unable to jump their own height for any reason. Dogs may jump whichever height suits their dog. It is intended that Grade 0 dogs will run the same course as Grade 1 dogs (apart from the agility (1) class), and will join when it is set at the most suitable height for them. There will be no weaves or tyre in these classes. Grade 0 dogs may just enter 2 runs (just jumping), or all 4 runs.

Steeplechase / These classes are intended for dogs and handlers that have never won a class at a kennel club licensed show. They should be eligible for grade 1 according to KC rules.
There will be no weaves or tyre in these classes.
Grade 2-3 Jumping

Steeplechase / These classes are intended for dogs and handlers that are eligible for grade 2 or 3 according to KC rules. However, grade 1 dogs may opt for this category if they wish a more challenging course.
These classes may contain weaves.
Grade 4-7Jumping
Agility (2)
Steeplechase / These classes are intended for dogs and handlers that are eligible for grades 4,5,6 or 7 according to KC rules.
These classes may contain weaves.

Height Categories and Jump Heights for the unaffiliated show:

Micro: dogs measuring 11 inches (280mm) or under at the withers. Jump height is10”.

This height is available as an option for smaller Small dogs.

Small: dogs measuring 13.75 inches (350mm) or under at the withers. Jump height is 14”.
Medium: dogs measuring over 13.75 inches (~350mm) and measuring 17 inches (430mm) or under

at the withers. Jump height is 18”.

Standard – (as championed by Agility Addicts): dogs measuring over 17 inches (430 mm) and measuring 20 inches (510mm) or under at the withers. Jump height is 22”. Available as an option for smaller Large dogs.

Large: dogs measuring over 17 inches (430mm) at the withers. Jump height is 26”.

We accept KC record book measurements for Small and Medium dogs, and UKA or Agility Addicts measurements for Standard dogs.

Steeplechase: This is intended as a fast and flowing jumping course for all. It will contain only jumps and tunnels.

AWARDS

1st place trophy in all classes. 2nd place, if over 30 dogs entered,

3rd place if over 50 dogs entered.

Placed rosettes to at least 10% of entries in all classes.

Clear round rosettes in all classes.

RULES FOR THE WINTER LEAGUE TABLE

Points will be generated at Bitz ‘N’ Bobz shows for Agility (2), Jumping and Steeplechase classes. Agility Addicts and the Gundog shows will also generate points from 3 classes, (1 Agility, 1 Jumping and 1 Games class). These will be totalled each month and will be published on the forum. A 1st place will generate 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, etc. descending, depending on entry numbers. The last shows to be included in the league will be the shows to be held in March, so that any presentations for winners can take place at the last show of the season.

Rules for the

GRADE 1

Agility Challenge

This is for Grade 1 dogs of all heights. The first 3 large dogs, in Agility (2), and the winners of the small and medium G1 classes at the first 6 Bitz ‘N’ Bobz shows, will be invited to take part in a final Agility Challenge. This will be held at the Bobz 4 Dogz charity show in April 2016. If a dog has already qualified, then the next placed dog will be offered the place at the final.

MIDLAND MASTERS

Win 2 Senior, or G4-7, Jumping or Agility classes or gain 30 league points with either 1st, 2nd or 3rd places in Senior or G4-7, Jumping or Agility classes at ABAA, Bitz n Bobz or The Gundog show.

You will be invited to take part in the final to be held at Bitz’N’Bobz April show.

The final for all heights (Large/Standard, Medium, Small/Toy/Micro) will consist of two rounds, one jumping and one agility. The cumulative results from these two rounds will produce the 3 winners.

Bitz’N’Bobz Show Rules

  1. The organisers of the Bitz’N’Bobz show reserve the right to refuse entries. See Closing date for each show.
  2. Entries limited. Fees £12.00 per dog (4 classes), with the option of £6.00 for Grade 0 (2 jumping runs ).
  3. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the show shall be counted when deciding which level to enter.
  4. If a change of grade is needed, then it is the competitor’s responsibility to notify the show secretary before the date of the show.
  5. If the maximum number of runs is reached before the official closing date, entries will be declared closed at that earlier date.
  6. Competitors must sign and date the declaration on the entry form. One form per handler.
  7. Handlers not cleaning up after their dogs will be asked to leave the show.
  8. All dogs entered for competition at this show must be 15 months of age or over.
  9. Bitches in season are not allowed to compete at the show, or be mated at the venue.
  10. Height definitions as per page 2 & 3 of this Schedule.
  11. Competitors are responsible for ensuring that they are available for their classes.
  12. Dogs may wear a flat nylon or leather collar, without attachments (except D-ring), when competing. Dogs must not wear any other form of collar, or harness or lead.
  13. Handlers must not have with them in the ring any training aids such as toys or titbits, with the exception of Grades 0 & 1 where silent toys are permitted.
  14. Marking of faults, including contacts, to be in line with Kennel Club rules. The judges may use their discretion in the Grade 0 class
  15. Judges may run their own dogs for competition when they are not scheduled for judging, and may allow another competitor to run their dogs whilst they are judging.
  16. Any person handling their own or any other dog in a harsh manner will be asked to leave the show.
  17. A dog will be removed from the competition if it is: so out of control that it poses a danger to people or dogs at the show; or suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, or otherwise unfit to compete.
  18. The Bitz’N’Bobz organisers are the sole arbiters in respect of all matters and disputes at this event.
  19. In the UNFORTUNATE event that the competition has to be cancelled, the Bitz’N’Bobz organisers reserve the right to deduct unrecoverable expenses incurred before returning entry fees.
  20. Handlers entered for competition are permitted to bring their non-competing dogs to the show. Any spectators must inform the show secretary beforehand if they intend to bring dogs to the show.
  21. All dogs are entered at their owner’s risk. Whilst every care will be taken, Bitz’N’Bobz will not take responsibility for the loss, damage or injury to dogs, people or property whilst at this show.
  22. Competitors must follow the instructions of the Stewards with respect to parking and conduct within the show boundaries. Any person being abusive to our helpers will be asked to leave the show.
  23. Goods may not be sold at the venue without prior permission of Bitz’N’Bobz
  24. Rosettes will not be posted on. They can be collected at one of the later shows.

TRAINING IN THE RING DURING THE UNAFFILLIATED SHOW:Competitors may, if they so wish, use the course time to train in the ring & so run “Not For Competition” (NFC).The Scribe will then shout NFC to the judge, who may then take a moment to relax. The Scribe must shout Time when the course time has been reached. Competitors must ensure their scribe sheet is annotated NFC.

ABOUT THE VENUE

The venue is a working stud. Please do not allow your dogs around any stallions or foals. The exercise area will be a large, fenced paddock, and will be clearly marked. Please respect this in order for us to keep the venue for future events.

RYTON POOLS COUNTRY PARK:This is just 5 minutes from the venue, and offers ample dog walking. Turn right out of the venue, and right again at the main road. Continue to the roundabout, and turn left. Ryton pools is clearly marked on the left hand side, (the nearest green area on the map supplied). There is a charge for parking in the park itself, but there are just a few road parking places, allowing you to use the pedestrian entrances to the park.

CATERING: There is a small café at the venue offering breakfast baps, hot drinks and chips at lunchtime.

Please clean up after your dogs.
