Equestrian Events

The Wyndham Branch of the Pony Club is organising the equestrian events on behalf of the Crab Fair Committee and would like to thank the Committee and Local Businesses for their support to enable this popular event to continue.

The Equestrian events will be held over two weekends, Show Jumping on Saturday 10th September at Lane Head Field, Sandwith, Whitehaven, and Riding the Boundary and riding/novelty classes on Saturday 17th September on the Upper Sports Field, St Bees Road, Egremont, by kind permission of Messrs. Kirkby, rosettes sponsored by McBride Vintage

RIDING THE BOUNDRY

The traditional riding of the boundary will start at 10:35 from the Sports Field, going to the Town centre and back. Lead rein ponies will be allowed with one accompanying adult. Numbers are limited, to register for the ride please contact:

Barbara Stephenson, Orla McBride & Rachael Cockelty will lead the procession side saddleThanks to the KINGS ARMSfor providing the stirrup cup.

Any unruly horse will be dismounted and walked in hand back to the upper sports field to avoid injury to onlookers.

Overall Trophy

Wyndham Pony Club have presented a trophy to be awarded to the competitor who collects the maximum number of points from equitation, turn out, games and their best position in leaping. All must be done on the same pony/horse.

AGE FOR ALL CLASSES IS AGE ON THE DAY OF THE COMPETITION

All riders must wear hats to BS EN 1384/PAS015 with chin strap securely fastened and suitable heeled footwear when mounted.

Entries are only accepted on this basis.
2. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.
3. All non Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third party cover. The Wyndham Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non Members and their insurance will not cover you.
