MANAGER/MANAGEMENT COUPLE

WOODCLOSE CARAVAN PARK, Kirkby Lonsdale

Remuneration

Basic salary to be agreed plus bonus based on park performance and provision of an apartment within the grounds of the caravan park. Also the opportunity to gain additional income through operation of the site shop. A company pension is also available with employer contributions.

Main Purpose of Job

To manage Woodclose Caravan Park on a day to day basis in a safe and efficient manner and to take an active role in it’s development.

Principle Accountabilities

1.  To manage the letting of static caravan pitches, bookings for touring caravans, camping and ‘Wigwams’ on the park

2.  To maintain the whole site to a high standard which will include the preparation of pitches, tree work, landscaping, grass cutting, moving caravans and ensuring at all times that the caravan park achieves the highest standard of presentation.

3.  To coordinate the promotion and sale of holiday homes/lodges to prospective customers

4.  To maintain a high standard of camping, touring and ‘Wigwam’ facilities including the cleaning of toilet blocks and tidying of pitches

5.  Can manage the upgrading and development of the park by contractors and others.

6.  To develop good relationships with our customers, at all time achieving a high standard of customer service

7.  To manage both permanent and seasonal site staff, including ensuring there is staff cover at all times

8.  To ensure that there is successful team working throughout the caravan park staff

9.  To work closely with our other caravan park managers to achieve effective team working across all parks within the Company’s ownership

10.  To be responsible for all health and safety issues at Woodclose, at all times, working in a safe manner, raising any concerns immediately with the Chief Executive. A key priority is the health and safety of our customers, employees, contractors and any other persons on the park

11.  To assist with the keeping of all relevant records, receiving and banking of cash, issuing of receipts and other documentation in connection with the operation of the park

12.  To operate the onsite shop and calor gas sales service

13.  To promote and support the sale of caravan insurance to customers

14.  To assist with the marketing of the park in conjunction with the Group’s Marketing Team

15.  To undertake any other tasks required from time to time to contribute towards the successful operation of the company.

Reporting Responsibilities

The Manager/Management Couple will report to the Chief Executive

The Manager/Management Couple will be responsible for all staff and contractors employed at Woodclose Caravan Park

General

The Manager/Management Couple will demonstrate an enthusiastic, pro-active and problem solving approach to the job. They will be a good a communicator/motivator and work well within a small team, especially under pressure. Bank Holiday and weekend working will be required, including unsociable hours. Computer literacy will be essential. Additional training will be available where required.

A condition of employment will be that the apartment provided is used as the main residence of the post holder(s)

Leave Entitlement

20 working days per annum plus statutory bank holidays taken in lieu where necessary due to operational requirements. Exact holiday dates must be agreed in advance with the Chief Executive
