Church income includes collections deposited of $135,567 which is $9,667 less than the same period last year. If you are a new parishioner and would like to receive envelopes or you are a current parishioner who has not been receiving your envelopes, please call the rectory at 654-5519. SPONSORS/GODPARENTS To be a godparent for Baptism, a person must be 16 years or older and a practicing and fully initiated Catholic, having completed the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. If married, the union must be recognized by the Catholic Church. One Catholic godparent is required; 2 godparents (one male & one female) is the ordinary and recommended practice. Keep in mind the purpose of a sponsor is to give good example and support in the Catholic faith of the baptized. Documentation of eligibility for all Catholic godparents are required from the Catholic Church where they are registered and attend weekly mass. If you have eligibility questions, please call (302)654-8504 before choosing any godparents. St. Ann’s Parish is offering Symbolon; The Catholic Faith Explained – Sessions will run 6:30pm to 8pm each Tuesday evening through November 17 in St. Ann’s School Library. All gently used clothing or small appliances are welcome.

Thanksgiving Food Drive - St. Ann’s Knights of Columbus and Parish Outreach will be accepting your donations of canned goods and non-perishable food Saturday, November 21; Sunday, November 22; and Thanksgiving Day, November 26 at all Masses. Food will be donated to St. Paul’s Food Closet who serve the needy twelve months a year. The winter months are especially demanding. Please remember those less fortunate as you give thanks for blessings received this year. Thank you.

Consecration to Jesus through Mary Retreat – In preparation for the Jubilee Year of Mercy, a retreat leading to Consecration to Jesus through Mary is being offered. We will use Fr. Michael Gaitley’s (MIC) material, 33 Days to Morning Glory. If you are interested in participating in the retreat, please pick up and complete a survey that can be found in the vestibule of the church; or contact Connie Winner Varone at or 302-765-9864. The first retreat will start at the beginning of November.

MARK THE DATE!!! St. Ann’s Christmas Concert – You are cordially invited to the 2015 St. Ann’s Christmas Concert on Sunday December 13th at 2pm. The concert will take place in beautiful St. Ann’s Church in the historic Wilmington neighborhood of Forty Acres, and will feature the St. Ann’s Adult Choir, St. Ann’s Children’s choir, a classical guitarist, and more. There will be a reception to follow in the school Social Hall. This is a free concert – please come out to St. Ann’s and get in the Christmas spirit.

Holiday Hope – A service to the community, Doherty Funeral Homes will sponsor a free program designed to help grieving families and individuals cope with the holidays. Diocesan Vocations Guild – Help the guild encourage and support vocations to the priesthood, religious life and the diaconate. The Guild is raffling off a beautiful woodcut of The Good Shepherd by Sister Mary Grace Thul, OP at their annual Christmas dinner for priests and seminarians on January, 10, 2016. St. Peter the Apostle Christmas Bazaar – Saturday, November 21st from 9am-3pm and Sunday, November 22nd from 9am-4pm. Breakfast with Santa on Saturday from 9-11am in Msgr. Crowley Hall. Women’s Weekend Retreat – All women are invited to a special weekend retreat dedicated to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. The retreat will be held November 20-22 in Malvern Retreat house’s McShain-Horstmann Family Life Center located at 315 S. Warren Avenue in Malvern, PA. Cedar Street Players of St. Elizabeth high School – present “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”. Performances are November 13-14 at 7pm in St. E’s Benedictine Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at the door and cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Lights of Love Ceremony – St. Francis Hospital on Tuesday December 8th, 2015. Mass at noon in the hospital chapel. The celebrant is Rev. Leonard Klein with the tree lighting and display of names in the hospital lobby immediately following. By making a donation of $5.00 per name, your loved ones, living or deceased, will be honored by the lights on the tree and their names placed on a scroll in the hospital lobby until January 9, 2016. 33rd Annual Festival of Trees – which will be held Friday November 20th-Sunday November 22nd is looking for some wonderful volunteers for a variety of tasks such as making items for Marketplace or our Bake Shop along with helping setting up and taking down. As Delaware Hospice’s signature fundraising event, the Festival of Trees comes to Cokesbury Village in Hockessin on the above named dates.
