Volunteers will be contacted in March 2014 to serve on the core conference planning committee. The specific positions will be determined based on the strengths and interests of the volunteer pool. The extended committee positions will be filled during the summer planning meeting and as needed. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact:

2015 ASCA Conference Planning Committee Areas of Interest
•Program Selection and Planning
- Coordinate the solicitation, review, selection, and placement of concurrent and roundtable programs
- Solicit ideas for speakers and pre-conference sessions and communicates with potential speakers
- Ensure that the conference program provides diverse and balanced offerings that meet current needs of membership and align with the conference theme
- Communicate with conference program presenters and speakers regarding materials, A/V needs, and schedule
- Oversee program evaluation process and collaborates with volunteer coordinator regarding session hosts
•Professional Development ( Case Study Competition, Career Resource Center, New Professionals, Mid-Level Professionals)
- Ensure that the interests and needs of new and mid-level professionals are reflected in the conference program. This may include planning or facilitating networking and/or social opportunities at the conference
- Spearhead development of program offerings for new and mid-level professionals
- Assist in the development and execution of value-added professional development opportunities, programs and resources for all attendees
•First-Time Attendees
- Coordinate an orientation to the conference for first time attendees
- Plan/facilitate networking, entertainment and other opportunities at the conference for first time attendees
•Publications/Assessment
- Compile/produce materials (electronic or printed) for conference attendees
- Oversee on-site signage, revision/ordering of forms, and daily conference updates
- DevelopPowerPoint presentations and slides presented at conference
- Oversee photos/documenting historical information from conference
- Develop assessment instruments for the overall conference, featured sessions, concurrent sessions and other conference offerings
•SSAO/SCO
- Develop and coordinate the Senior Student Affairs Officer (SSAO)/Senior Conduct Officers (SCO) conference experience, which has traditionally been a day-long pre-conference workshop and some follow up conference sessions geared towards the interests of Senior Student Affairs/Senior Conduct Officers staff
- Ensure that the interests and needs of SSAOs/SCOs are reflected in the conference program
•Logistics Planning
- Assist with details of the conference experience and collaborate with the central office and hotel staff
- Topical areas include: coordinating transportation, selecting menus, overseeing A/V and room needs, assisting with other large scale events
- Coordinates logistical on-site needs for exhibitors
•Volunteers
- Solicit, schedule, and educate volunteers for the conference – mainly for registration, assisting with entertainment events, and hosting concurrent sessions.
•Check-In/Registration
- Coordinate on-site registration activities, including teaching volunteers to staff registration tables
- Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that registration tables are staffed
•Entertainment
- Coordinate appropriate entertainment opportunities for conference attendees prior to the conference
- Plan entertainment opportunities/networking opportunities on-site at the conference and coordinates the logistics of events once on site
•Case Study
- Coordinate the case study experience at the conference by developing the content, soliciting judges, and implementing experience based on feedback from the conference committee
•Career Resource Center
- Coordinate the job posting/interviewing opportunities at the conference
•Technology/Social Media
- Oversee and coordinate all technology and social media needs of the conference including the production of the online program guide
