Dear Teacher,
Thank you for choosing Turtle Point as your field trip destination. Please review the enclosed information carefully. Once you have confirmed a date with our staff, please return the application form. In order for your date to be held, the application form must be returned to us by fax or by mail.
Before leaving your school, please make sure that all students and chaperones have nametags and that each chaperone is acquainted with his/her group of students. Chaperones should NOT bring siblings. Teachers and nurses are free. All students, parents, and chaperones should pay the $4 program fee. Please collect all monies and pay as a group. Comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for outdoor activities are a must for all of the participants. Please bring one container of waterless hand sanitizer for your class.
Due to first aid and controlled substance policies, the Staff of Turtle Point will not be able to provide aid or dispense medication of any sort. Please make the necessary arrangements with your principal and parents to meet the needs of your students. The health section on the “Release from Liability” form should be filled out for students with allergies to insects, etc., so that teachers and chaperones can be alert to signs of allergic reaction in those children.
Proceeds from our gift shop are used to buy animal food and other essentials needed to support Turtle Point. We will allow time so that your students can visit the gift shop. If you would prefer, we can assemble souvenir bags for all of your students for $5 each. If you choose this option, you must let us know one week in advance. We will need to know the number of boys and girls in your class so that we can assemble appropriate gift bags. Please note that that we only accept cash and checks.
Pre K and K classes will begin at 9 am and end at 11:30; 1st grade classes and higher will begin at 9:30 and end at 1:30. Please arrive on time and make arrangements for the bus to pick you up at the appropriate time.
We are looking forward to creating a valuable learning experience for you and your students. Please call our office if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Jackie Word
