The Objectives of the Lincoln Spiritual Association are:

a. The holding of religious services for public worship

b.Spiritual Healing of the sick

c.The advancement of the religion and religious philosophy of Spiritualism

d.The training of all in the principle of the religion and religious philosophy of Spiritualism

e.Such charitable purposes as may be decided upon from time to time
The surge in interest in spiritual matters and events continues, with new groups emerging on a regular basis. As a well-established reputable organisation of many years standing we continue to attract new comers to our services and events, although numbers continue to be lower than in the formative years.

We continue to hold a Divine Service every Sunday within the Unitarian Chapel, (which we rent), except at Christmas and New Year when we take a break. We have regular guest speakers but continue to look forand invite new guest speakers to take our service. The Unitarian Chapel is in the centre of Lincoln, with parking available and is also close to both the bus and train stations, thereby making it an ideal venue for our Services, very accessible to all.

We continue to hold Special Mediumship Events in South Hykeham Village Hall, a venue that is well placed for easy access and with free onsite parking. We are always looking to bring something different to our congregation. With a busy sporting calendar in 2014, we held an Afternoon Tea one Saturday afternoon in July, with homemade cakes and china cups and plates.

We have also organised two workshops during the year, both of which were held at South Hykeham Village Hall. In June we held a colour workshop, which was a morning event; and in August we held an Angel Workshop, which was a full day event. Both events were well attended and enjoyed by all those who came along. We held a psychic supper in September, with a fish and chip supper provided and this ticket only event was a sell out.

We have a psychic awareness group which runs on the first Tuesday of the Month from March through to December and numbers attending this group has increased, which is pleasing.

Spiritual Healing is offered to anyone who wishes to receive it prior to the Divine Service every Sunday. We are delighted that our secretary has completed her training and has now qualified. We do not make a charge for healing, but donations are welcomed. If anyone requires healing but cannot attend church, where possible we try and arrange for a healer to visit the person in their home, or to signpost them to another venue where they can receive healing and the help they need. We also hold a distant healing book in church. During the Divine Service, we have a distant healing section where names are read from our book and we have a few minutes healing silence and a healing hymn.

Although the ultimate aim of the Association has always been to own its own premises, with the drop in income and the poor interest rates of the last few years, this is unlikely to happen in the near future. In light of this, the Trustees took the decision to invest a sum of £50,000 in a fixed bond account to accrue more interest to eventually further the aims of the organisation.
It has to be remembered that it is not just purchasing a building and all the costs that entails, but also the costs and responsibility of running and maintaining a property have to be taken into consideration. Given that all our Trustees and Committee Members are Volunteers and all except one are in paid employment, taking on a building is a very large commitment and needs considerable thought and planning should we ever be in a position to do this. Even if we were to own premises of our own, unless we can find somewhere central in Lincoln, with access to parking, it is highly unlikely that we would stop using the Unitarian Chapel for our Divine Services.
Therefore, the aim of the Trustees is to focus on our objectives listed above.

In the past year, we have made charitable donations to the following organisations:
Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance - £100
BLESMA - £50
St Barnabas Hospice - £100
Nomad Trust - £200
It is our aim to make further donations to charitable causes during the coming year. Our accounts for the year are below.
