Dear Parents/Guardians:
Thursday, June 4, is our annual Middle Years Track and Field meet. It is considered a regular school day. Students are to meet in the center of the Comprehensive High School track field for instructions and attendance by 8:45 a.m. and check in with their advisor teacher for attendance. If your child will not be in attendance, please call the school to report his/her absence.
At 8:30, all students will board a bus from Fairview that will take them to the Comp for the Track Meet. At the end of the meet (around 2:45) all students will board a bus at the Comp and be brought back to Fairview in time to catch their regular bus / normal method of end of day transportation. Busses at the end of the day will run as usual. If for any reason, parents would like to leave with their children at any time earlier than 2:45, they will be required to let Mr. Kelln know of their intentions. Students will not be permitted to leave the track meet with other students parents unless this request has been communicated with Mr. Kelln.
Students should dress for the weather. It is important that they have sunscreen, hats, bug spray, water and a light jacket. Swimsuits are not permitted. Proper footwear should be worn (no flip-flops, etc.)
Students can bring a bag lunch or money to purchase food at the concession booth that will be set-up at the track field. (See below for prices.) Students are not to leave the field at lunch time and we request that parents do not take their child out for lunch as all events are scheduled for a specific time and we will not wait for absent students. Parents are welcome to join their child for lunch, at the field, or at any time during the day.
In the event of inclement weather or other reasons beyond our control, the meet may be postponed to an alternate date or cancelled. If the decision is made to postpone the meet, an announcement will be made by 7:30 a.m. on the local radio stations the morning of the June 4th.
We will be having an information assembly with students on Monday, June 1st to discuss the track meet and answer any specific questions they might have. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
We also need volunteers to assist us with our day. Please phone the office at 778-9265 if you are able to help out.
