Some programs charge students one fee for all services (such as flight, in-country transportation, etc.), but some programs shift costs of certain necessities to students (such as flights, visas, etc.) that are not part of the overall program fee. If your program charges you an all-inclusive price, then just list that single price below under total costs. If your program’s expenses can be itemizes, then please list below your individual expenses associated with your program.

Please note that regardless of your overall expenses, you can only apply for TAG funding based on your program’s length: $500 for programs of less than a semester; $1,000 for full-semester programs; and $1,500 for full-year programs.

Narrative: Below, please provide a typed, double-spaced narrative of approximately 250 words describing how this program is related to your academic goals and how you anticipate this program will impact your intellectual and personal goals and development.

Letter of Recommendation

To be considered for a TAG, a WKU faculty member must submit a letter of recommendation speaking to your academic and personal maturity and promise for study abroad education.

The Faculty member writing your letter of recommendation can find and submit the TAG Letter of Recommendation directly to the Honors College from the Honors College’s website, at Faculty members can address any questions or problems to . TAG applications will not be evaluated if the Letter of Recommendation is not submitted by the TAG deadline. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the professor of the recommendation form online, the directions, and the deadlines. Be sure to ask your recommender for a letter several weeks before the TAG deadline. The Letter of Recommendation will be used in evaluating the strength of your TAG application.

Final Submission

By completing this document and emailing it as an attachment to you are declaring the veracity of the financial information reported above and understand the terms, rules, and conditions of the grant you am applying for. You also realize that the TAG application is not complete with out the Letter of Recommendation being submitted by the stated deadline. If the Honors College chooses to award funds to support your participation in a Study Abroad Program, any legal liability and responsibility still reside with the organization sponsoring the Study Abroad Program and not with the Honors College itself. Please make sure you are familiar with all rules and guidelines, particularly those concerning risk management, that are part of your chosen Study Abroad Program.
