Medicaid Transportation /
A big change in how Medicaid Trips are assigned to Medicaid Transportation Providers will be implemented on June 1st, 2018.
Starting June 1st, 2018:
- The Transportation Provider Profile (TPP) must indicate the zip codes in which the TP will accept trip assignments.
- The TPP must indicate the days and hours the provider is available for trip assignments. Additionally, the TPP must indicate the maximum number of trip assignments per day the TP can accommodate.Blank fields indicate no availability.
- TPs must accept all assigned trips. All trip reassignments must be called into the MAS call center, the electronic reassign feature will be turned off on June 1st, 2018. Reassigned trips will be reported to the NYS Department of Health.
- MAS will not call Transportation Providers asking about availability starting on June 1st. Availability information is controlled by the Transportation Provider. The Transportation Provider must manage their availability in real time.
Transportation Providers are responsible for updating zip code coverage areas, days and times of operation, and maximum number of daily trips.
Transportation Providers are responsible for the information on their profile including:
- NYSDOH transportation provider information as provided by eMedNY.
- Operating hours available for Medicaid trip assignments.
- Operating area zip codes available for Medicaid trip assignments.
- Days not accepting Medicaid Trip Assignments (holiday)
- Not accepting any more Medicaid Trip Assignments today.
- Not accepting any more Medicaid Trip Assignments tomorrow.
