Tobacco Use Prevention Program (TUPP)

Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. The majority of daily smokers began smoking before the ages of 18-year-old. Through tobacco education and prevention activities, the number of youth smoking can be decrease.

The Tobacco Use Prevention Program is a program that is committed to tobacco prevention and education in County of Orange. Our mission is to significantly decrease tobacco use and environmental tobacco smoke in the County of Orange. TUPP work with community organizations, schools, and local officials surrounding tobacco issues.

TUPP have many volunteer opportunities for individuals who are interesting in working on tobacco issues such as smoke-free areas, keeping tobacco away from youth, and reducing tobacco advertising.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

Conduct community research and background work.

Work TUPP booth at health fairs and community events.

Assist with clerical work (mailing packet collation, etc.).

Educate policy makers or write letters regarding issues or proposed bills.

Distribute tobacco control materials in your community.
