  • The student will be able to set a health goal to make a time management plan. NHES 6

Differentiation for diverse learners:If modifications are needed for students that have difficulty with assignments, the teacher will refine tasks to meet the needs of those learners. Every student should have time management goals and since there is a group activity the students will be able to make modifications to their plan based off of what their time management needs are.

Teacher Objectives: The teacher will present tips on how to manage time and discuss the importance of being able to manage time. The teacher will also assist in helping the students with making a time management plan.

Assessment Strategy: A crossword puzzle using all of the tips, strategies, and tools for time management.

Task: Crossword puzzle and breaking down a schedule and managing the time use of that schedule

Evidence: At least 50% on the crossword puzzle and completing the group activity

Criteria/Rubric/Checklist: A 37 word crossword puzzle that assesses their knowledge of the information covered on time management./ The correct answers from the crossword puzzle./ Check to see if the students got at least 18 words right on the crossword puzzle.

Instructional Outline:

Set Induction: Let the students know what we will be doing today.-helping with a time management plan and doing a crossword puzzle for assessment.
Let them know what is going to be expected of them. - answering at least 50 % of the crossword puzzle correctly.
Introduce objectives-TSWBAT discuss time management, and set a health goal to make a time management plan.
Lesson:
Task presentation-with the aid of the computer and with print outs, present the activity of helping the middle school girls manage their time.
Give the students advice on how to help these girls with their time management.
Check for understanding- by revisiting ways to incorporate effective time management.
Allow the students to group together and come up with a plan collectively.
Assessment-give the students a crossword puzzle and see if they can get 50 % of the words on the puzzle or more.
Closure:
Check for understanding- once more by revisiting tips on time management
Ask students if they learned anything new from the lesson about time management that they did not already know.
Ask the students if they plan to use what they learned from the lesson in their personal time management. / State NHES 6 at the Beginning.
Ask students what they know about time management.
Tell the students the objectives.
Show the students the time management activity on both the screen as well as a handout.
Give tips on how to manage time effectively-wristwatch ,priorities , long-term ,procrastination , distractions ,overscheduled ,manage, homework, television, planner, free, quitter, sleep, relax, world wide web, calendar, budget, goals, and rush.
Give ample time for activities to be completed.
Be enthusiastic about time management.
Make sure each student is included and active.
Encourage students to incorporate a time management plan into their lives.
Allow them to set a goal for time management by offering extra credit to students that bring in a weekly plan, that maps out how they will spend their time.
