MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES AND OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC QUESTIONS

Steve Hesmondhalgh, planning consultant for the prospective new build at The Angel, spoke and answered questions. Camerons, the brewery owning The Angel, wish to maximise the value of the site possibly by building a single detached house at the front of The Angel’s car park. The parish council expressed concern thatthe build may spoil the view down Long Street for the neighbours of the new house. SH explained the build has been stepped back to avoid this. The PC is also concerned about the shared access for the new house and customers of The Angel. SH explained the access width will be wide enough for two vehicles, with signage for safety. The planning application will soon be filed and the parish council and all neighbours of the potential new build will be consulted.

OPEN SPACES MAINTENANCE

It was discussed whether or not to have the big mower repaired. Considering the repair will cost between £1,000 and £1,500, and a new mower would cost around £10,000, it was resolved to go ahead with the repair to save with time and fuel costs.
