Dear Parents and Carers
This is an update to our previous newsletter in April to keep you informed of the busy term ahead. We have several events to prepare for such as the PTA bike ride, our Summer Fete, some special lunches and Summer Sports Special.
Y2 Transition
Our Year Two children will be preparing for their next stage in learning with transition to Junior School. The date for Move Up Day is Wednesday 5th July.
On this day Y2 go to Junior School for the day to get to know their teachers.
All other children will also move up to their next class on this day to spend the day with their new teacher and classmates. We will also have our new Nursery and Reception children for the day!
Leavers Assembly
Leavers Assembly will take place on Thursday 13th July at 1.30 when we get a chance to say goodbye to our lovely Y2!
Staff changes
You have already heard that Mrs Patnell has secured a job at her local school and so will be leaving us at the end of this term at the same time as Miss Young. We thank them both once again for all their hard work at our school and wish them every success and happiness. From September Miss Bethany Sleet will be joining us to teach our Y2 class. We are looking forward to her being part of our team very much. Mrs Katie Pugh will be joining us from 19th June so that she will know all about the children in September. She is a Newly Qualified Teacher and she will be working with Y1/2 next year.
Parent and Teacher Association Events
The PTA Sponsored Bike Ride is on Friday 9th June. Also please come and support the PTA Summer Fete on Saturday 15th July from 11 -3pm.
The PTA are also arranging our Summer Sports Specialwhichreplaces Sports Day.
Our Summer Sports Special is on Friday 30th June from 10am – 2pm on the village sports field. Please come and support your children in this event! This will be a family fun day where children will compete in races, have a picnic with families, purchase drinks and snacks, and play games with their children and others. A letter has already gone out to families about this picnic lunch.
Children’s University
The nominations for this term’s graduation ceremony have been sent –Graduation Ceremony is in our school hall at 2pm on 12th June. Congratulations! Invitations have been sent to: Ellie Proctor, Tommy Thorpe, Ellie-Mae Hipkin, Isobel Holland, Zac Dix, Daisy reynolds, Olivia Murtagh and Lewis Richardson.
School Trips
Y2 are going to Bewilderwood again this year on Thursday6th July to visit the Twiggles!! This event is kindly paid for by our lovely PTA.
Our Annual YR/KS1 School Beach Visit is planned for Friday 21st July. Everyone in Orange, Red, Blue and Yellow Classes will be going, weather permitting, for a picnic and fun and games on the beach.
