SUBJECT: Chairman’s Welcome

Welcome to the ASTM Committee D03 on Gaseous Fuels. The members ofASTM D03 committee look forward to your contributions in serving the needs of the various stake holders in the gaseous fuels community.We are active in promulgating new standards, practices and procedures, and revising current standards to meet the requirements in theevolving gaseous fuel industry.

ASTM D03 committee and subcommittee activities include the periodic review of all existing standards taking into account technological advancement and changes in stake holder requirements. In addition, weevaluate the need fornew standards and practices to keep our Standards Portfolio at the cutting edge of new technologies and applications for Gaseous Fuels.

ASTM D03 Committee provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information on issues critical to the gaseous fuel industry. The committee maintains a list of liaisons with other organizations impacting and impacted by the gaseous fuels industry. Networking with other professionals and stakeholders in the industry can provide a new perspective on the problems and issues impacting the gaseous fuels industry.

I expect you will find membership in this committee useful, informative, and satisfying. The best way to enhance your impact and satisfaction is by participating in our bi-annual meetings. Committee meetings are crucial to resolving issues pertaining to standard creation and renewal and provide a direct opportunity to influence the design of committee standards. These meetings also serve to inform attendees on recent developments and new issues impacting the gaseous fuels industry.
