Title I Coaches Meeting Minutes

The meeting started on November 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm with an introduction opening from Mr. Tony Conn (Title I Coordinator)and all Title I Teachers Teacher Coaches.

The PK Coordinator (Jason Cox) presented more detailed information for the November Read Aloud and activities for each school parent workshop.

The group discussed the role of a Title I Teacher Coach (TITC) and how this coach would be an effective liaison between the staff and the principal. The group discussed how to effectively communicate and collaborate with the principal and staff.

The group had a conversation on how to communicate in a timely fashion with the parent coordinators of the schools and help to relay important information throughout the community with the use of developing school calendars and newsletters. Mr. Conn explained the importance of confidentiality and how vital it was to maintain for the safety of the staff and students.

The group reviewed and discussed the Title I Website and Dropbox. Mr. Conn explained the high quality teacher letters, right to know letters, and principal attestation page would no longer be required for the 2017-18 school year. Mr. Conn also explained the High Quality Data Collection System (HQDCS) was be dismissed for the 20017-18 school year.

Mrs. Brewer discussed with the TITC team about the new State WVDE GPS system report that is connected to each school’s strategic plan and Title I Plans. She reviewed all these items with the team and discussed in detail each schools tentative Title I Budget.

Mr. Conn discussed with the Title I teachers the three countywide strategic goals for the 2017-18 school year, which included the importance/relevance of PLC’s and academic leadership, increasing student engagement, and effectively monitoring and utilizing data/assessments for the academic subjects of Math and Reading.

Mr. Conn discussed that the December meeting would change to Thursday December 14, 2017 because of a conflict with the schedule for a state Title I Meeting on the first Thursday of December.

Mr. Conn and Mrs. Brewer had all TITC Teachers to submit School widedata from STAR Assessment for Reading and Math.

The meeting concluded with Mr. Conn and Mrs. Brewer adjourning and announcing for everyone to have agreat 2017-18 school year.
