Job Purpose

To provide data analysis, interpretation and quality assurance for a wide range of information collected through manual and electronic data collection, utilising advanced knowledge of SSRS, Excel and other software packages as appropriate.

To contribute to the ongoing development of the client caseload information system (InSight) to ensure the system and data comply to the NCCIS data specification and meet the operational and business planning needs of Ansbury.

To lead on maintaining and upgrading the database.

To support the MI & Data Manager in the development of the overall MI & Data Team activities

To ensure accurate information is provided in a timely manner and high quality reports are produced to a cycle of deadlines, this will include a suite of SSRS reports.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. To maintain an overview of current developments in the InSight database.
  1. To contribute to the development and planning of the InSight database.
  1. To lead with the testing and implementation of upgrades and modifications to the InSight database in accordance with NCCIS yearly requirements.
  1. To ensure all data reported is accurate and validated prior to internal and external distribution. Demonstrate initiative when collecting data and following up concerns and errors associated with accuracy or completeness of data received.
  1. To produce and check the monthly NCCIS data return as required by DfE.
  1. To prepare narrative reports identifying exceptions in meeting agreed standards/targets. To use communication and influencing skills in working with staff to identify issues and report on action being taken to improve compliance.
  1. To implement procedures to check quality and accuracy of the data held on the database and liaise with appropriate operational staff to remedy errors.
  1. To continually review information requirements, adapt information production in response to changes within Ansbury Guidance, Dorset County Council and External Stakeholders.
  1. To design and manage systems to maintain accuracy and robustness of data, to check data quality, provide audit trails and archive records.
  1. To extract and gather information and undertake detailed analysis as requested by Ansbury Guidance, Dorset County Council and external stakeholders using in depth, statistical, analytical and judgmental skills.
  1. To lead with the mass input of data supplied electronically to Ansbury including data from Local Authorities, LSC and others.
  1. To assist with user support via the InSight Helpdesk.
  1. To assist in the monitoring, reporting and working towards achieving national and local performance indicators.
  1. To contribute to the writing and on-going development of appropriate reporting procedures to provide information for the business of Ansbury.
  1. To be aware of Data Protection Legislation and potential issues of confidentiality and to ensure that this remains central to the work of the MI Team.
  1. To continually adapt to new working practices, system changes and technology.
  1. To operate as a member of the team in the achievement of objectives and targets.
  1. To monitor own work outputs and performance against team targets set in the MI Team quarterly plans.

The Line Manager will set performance indicators for the postholder. The standards from which the performance indicators will be derived are:

Must have a relevant degree level qualification or equivalent experience. / 
