I invite you to join me these next three Sundays to explorehowwe read the bible. We already know how toopen the bible, the church's sacred library, We may know the names of the sixty-six books, the flow of salvation history through each and perhaps some of the best stories and songs therein. But we also need toopen ourselvesto an experience of encountering the living Word. Thus, our invitation and the title of this three-week journey is to"Be Open". We begin this Sunday, April 30,Reading the Bible with Both Eyes Open. We will learn and practice the concepts of Second Bible, Witness Literature and Revelatory Truth. On May 7 we will practiceReading the Bible with an Open Heartas we experience Living Word, Discernment Discipleship, and Mutual Consolation. Finally, on May 14 we will closely examine the story of Bishop Oscar Romero (1917-1980) as an example ofReading the Bible with an Open Life.
