STORY SUMMARY:

The Henry T. Nicholas Foundation is sponsoring the inaugural all-star classic consisting of the Southern California Bowl and American Heritage Bowl debuting on Saturday, Jan 26 at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Stadium. ESPN will air both games.

The Southern California Bowlis the first regional all star game featuring southern California’s best seniorstudent-athletes. The Coastal “Navy” all-stars with players from Orange County, San Diego and Imperial counties will battle the Inland “Marines” squad representing San Bernardino andRiverside.

The American Heritage Bowl is the first football game ever to assemble the HBCU’s top senior players in an all-star event. Ricky Comegy of Jackson State University will serve as head coach of the Southwest “Marines” team pitted against the Northeast “Navy” all-stars coached by DelawareState’s Al Lavan. Former Los Angeles Rams great Leroy Irvin will act as honorary coach. Halftime ceremonies will include check presentations by Dr. Henry Nicholasto the Wounded Warrior project, National Military Family Association, Freedom Alliance and Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
