All successful applicants are asked to commit to fundraising a minimum of £98 for Acorns. In addition a £20 deposit will be required on confirmation of your place.

Fundraising Pledge

  1. Acorns has a limited number of places which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
  1. Your application for an Acorns place must be submitted on the official application form and sent to Liam Flynn
  1. Once your place has been confirmed you will need to make a payment of £20. You will also need to deliver a minimum sponsorship of £98 sponsorship, to Acorns, by no later than by Monday31st March 2014.

Paying your sponsorship funds to Acorns

  1. Any existing regular donations which you make to Acorns do not form part of the total raised through sponsorship.
  1. Acorns will advise you on the recommended way(s) to pay in your sponsorship. This is to ensure that Acorns can easily trace funds that you pay in. Acorns cannot be liable for cheques lost in the post, or monies paid to Acorns in any way other than those which Acorns has recommended. The amount which Acorns deems to have been raised by you will be the amount that Acorns has recognised as having been paid into its bank account on your behalf.
  1. Monies reclaimed by Acorns from the Inland Revenue for Gift Aid (or any other charity tax scheme) does not count towards the total value of sponsorship you raise.

Cancelling your Acorns place

If you wish to cancel your place please notify Acorns as soon as possible to allow us to reallocate your place to a runner on the waiting list.

IMPORTANT: Deferring your place due to injury

If you sustain a training injury, please contact Andrea Murphy in writing as soon as possible prior to race day. It is important that you do not take part in the run unless you are complete fit to do so. Whenever possible Acorns will defer your place and your fundraising commitment to the 2016 event. However, you must agree to abide by all terms and conditions which Acorns and the Virgin London Marathon Company publishes for the 2015 event.
