Minimum educational qualification:

Experience:

Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Public Health.

Develop implementation tools for the quality improvement framework (including Occ health & IPC) in line with the National and Provincial APP and other relevant requirements.

Analyse and report on the impact of quality improvement initiatives(including Occ health & IPC) in the department.

Capacity development in quality improvement.

Provide formal supervision to one or more Public Health registrars within the programme and informal support for registrar teaching within the programme.

Plan, conduct and apply health systems and services research relevant to the improvement of quality of care as outlined in Healthcare 2020 and other national and provincial quality improvement initiatives.

Academic activities consistent with the mandate of the University for research, teaching and social responsiveness.

Implement and monitor adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and guidelines in keeping with legislative requirements and national and provincial policies.

Ensure sound Drug Supply Management (DSM) practices by ensuring implementation, monitoring and control of DSM principles within the Cape Medical Depot.

Ensure storage, control and distribution in accordance with GPP.

Supervise stores personnel (Pharmacist’s Assistants and General Workers) including development and personnel evaluations.

Review the current IT system (MEDSAS) in use at the CMD in meeting the warehousing, operational and legislative reporting requirements, with the view to making a recommendation to upgrade/replace the current IT system.

Manage the replace/upgrade of an IT system for the CMD which include the analysis of CMD business processes, the development of user specifications for a upgrade of the current system or the replacement of such a system, taking all related operational , budgetary, legislative and policy parameters into account.

System management including evaluation, analysis, planning and redress to enable system enhancement, implementation and support.
