The meeting of all NIC Regions will be held on Saturday April 2nd and a half-day on Sunday, April 3rd. The meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel Nashville-Airport located at 10 Century Blvd., Nashville, TN. GA.

Registration Form (enclosed). The registration fee must be paid in advance as there will be no on-site registration. Payment must be made by check, warrant, money order, etc., as NIC is not set up to accept credit card payments for the meeting. Registration fee schedule:

The meeting is only open to registered members, speakers and sponsors. The registration fee includes the welcome reception on Friday evening. If you plan to bring a guest to the welcome reception the fee is $65 for each guest and payment must be received on or before March 15, 2016. Tickets to this function will not be sold at the door. Fees for registration and/or function ticket are refundable provided that a cancellation notice is received on or before March 25th.

Hotel Reservations: The deadline date for making hotel reservations is Friday, February 26, 2016. The guest room rate is $179 a night plus applicable taxes. All reservations for arrival must be guaranteed to a major credit card. An early departure fee of $75 applies if the hotel is not notified in advance or at check-in of any change in the planned length of stay. All reservations are subject to the hotel’s 48 hours cancellation policy to avoid a room charge.

A limited number of guest rooms are blocked. The discounted room rate is available until Friday, February 26, 2016 or until the block sells out, whichever comes first. As such, it is important that individual attendees make their room reservation as soon as possible. Check-in time at the hotel is 4:00 p.m.; check out time is 11:00 a.m. Guest room amenities include hairdryer, iron/ironing board, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, microwave and complimentary high-speed wireless internet.

Airport, Ground Transportation and Parking. The Hotel is approximately 8 miles from the Nashville International Airport (BNA). The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle for airport transportation that runs from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. After you pick up your luggage at the airport, call the hotel at 615-871-0033 and pick option 3 to request a shuttle or you may call the driver directly at 615-719-5431. On the ground floor, near all the car rental stations, take the sliding glass doors out to ground transportation—there is a waiting area for hotel shuttle pickup across the street in the parking garage. As for shuttle service back to the airport on your date of departure, the shuttle leaves on the top of the hour and the half hour.

For attendees traveling by car, parking at the hotel is complimentary for hotel guests.

Attire: Business casual attire is suitable for the meeting. It is advisable to bring a light jacket/sweater to the meeting as we can not regulate the room temperature to accommodate everyone.

Friday Night: The meeting will be preceded by a welcome reception on Friday, April 1st, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash, no-host bar will be available. Casual or business-casual attire is suitable for the reception.

Saturday/Sunday: The meeting, including a sponsored breakfast and lunch, will be held at the hotel on Saturday. Attendees will have a free evening on Saturday night. We will meet for a sponsored breakfast on Sunday morning and conclude the meeting at approximately 12:00 p.m. (Noon).

Downtown Shuttle: Attendees who may want to experience downtown adventures during your free time may arrange for a shuttle through the hotel front desk. The cost is $10 per person round trip.

Agenda: A tentative agenda and registration form are included in this packet of information. Please complete the registration form and send it with the applicable registration fee to the NIC Office at 7622 Briarwood Circle, Little Rock, AR, 72205. The deadline date for registration & payment of the applicable registration fee is March 15, 2016. Please make checks payable to the National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology. ATTENTION BOARD ADMINISTRATORS: The Administrators will meet Thursday, March 31st and Friday, April 1st. Information about the meeting including registration materials will be sent at a later date. The registration fee for the all Regions meeting and the registration forms for both the all Regions meeting and the administrators meeting should be sent directly to the NIC office. This session will focus on the benefits of developing standards within regulated professions. These adopted standards must extend to the evaluation of education, where instances of fraud are most prevalent. This session will focus on the accounting profession as an example of how the regulation of education evaluations has assisted boards and their licensees with mobility and transfer of licenses. In addition, the speaker will identify pathways where fraudulent activity will continue in these professions unless addressed at the board level.

This session will provide an overview of the Uniform Model Law being developed by the Board Administrators Committee. Various subject areas will include Inspections and Citations, Infection Control, Definitions, Scope of Services and Endorsement/Reciprocity. The Board Administrators have been working on this initiative for several years in an effort to create a model law that can be utilized by all states to create Industry consistency.
