Greetings,

This is your1 day noticefor your migration to the central University of Manitoba email system. An IT Support Specialist will visit you the next business dayto verify your migration and to help if you are experiencing any issues related to the migration.

The IT Support Specialist will be at your desk:

When you login to Outlook for the first time after your migration, you will be required to login with: ad\username.

If your username is longer than 8 characters, a new userid has been assigned to you and we will assist you with your first login. In the interim, you will also be able to access all of your email and calendar functions on the Outlook Web App at .

Once you have migrated, you will receive a new email address: .

You will continue receiving mail sent to your @med.umanitoba.ca address. If you had forwarding setup on your @cc.umanitoba.ca account to your @med.umanitoba.ca account, this will also continue to work.

If you have any questions or experience any issues after the IT support specialist has left, the options for support are:

  1. Call the Help and Solutions Centre at 204-474-8400 and press 8 for dedicated project support;
  2. Visit the project support kiosk at 149 Basic Medical Sciences Building;
  3. Email ; or,
  4. Visit the project website for DIY resources on how to change your settings.

A brief summary of what to expect during the migration:

  • Some settings on smart phones, mobile devices and desktops will need to be changed. IT support specialists will provide hands-on support through desktop visits and a drop-in kiosk. Additional support will be available through the IST website and phone support. If for some reason the IT support specialist was unable to connect with you, additional support is available for your migration via a drop in kiosk located at Room 149 BMSB (Basic Medical Sciences Building), where IT support specialists will be at your service to help change your smart phone, mobile device and/or laptop settings.
  • As a reminder, you can also access your email remotely through the Outlook Web App (OWA) at .
  • An automatic lock out for your smart phone and/or mobile device(s) will be implemented with the email migration. After your account is migrated, you will be prompted to set a 4-digit passcode.
  • Some users may have to reset their passwords after their email account is migrated.
