1.5.1 Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing the work of this section with minimum five years experience.

1.5.2 Source Limitations for Materials and Accessories: Obtain product of a uniform quality for each application condition from a single manufacturer.

1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.7.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

1.8 COORDINATION

1.8.1 Coordinate Work with other operations and installation of floor finish materials to avoid damage to installed materials.

2.2 FLOOR AND SHOWER DRAINS

2.2.1 Schluter-KERDI-DRAIN, Plastic:

2.2.1.1 Description: floor drain 11-25/32 inch (300 mm) diameter, trapezoid-perforated, integrated bonding flange with polypropylene fleece thermally laminated to the surface and hubbed connection to 2 inch (50 mm) drain pipe. 2.2.3 Schluter-KERDI-DRAIN ADAPTER KIT, Plastic:

2.2.3.1.1 Floor drain adaptor kit consisting of stainless steel adaptor ring with over-molded santoprene gasket, 11-13/16 inch (300 mm) diameter sloped integrated bonding flange with thermally laminated polypropylene fleece, and grate assembly. 2.2.5 Schluter-KERDI-LINE DRAIN, Brushed Stainless Steel:

2.2.5.1 Description:

2.2.5.1.1 Linear floor drain consisting of a formed stainless steel channel body and grate assembly that can be seamlessly adjusted to tile or stone covering thickness from 1/8 inch (3 mm) to 1 inch (25 mm). The channel body features a 2-1/4 inch (57 mm) wide trough, a 2 inch (50 mm) no-hub outlet and a 7/8 inch (22 mm) wide bonding flange laminated with a collar made of the Schluter-KERDI waterproofing membrane. The grate assembly includes a 3/8 inch (10 mm) wide brushed stainless steel grate frame and 2-1/8 inch (54 mm) wide grate insert that together form the visible surface. Drain type as referenced in methods B422 and B422 STONE in the Tile Council of North America Handbook for Ceramic, Glass, and Stone Tile Installation.

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.1.1 Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

3.1.2 Verify drain location and compatibility with drain system specified.

3.1.3 If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

3.2.1 Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

3.2.2 Prepare surfaces by removing all debris, sharp edges and protrusions that could damage the waterproof integrity of the system.

3.2.3 Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

3.3.2 Coordinate Work with installation of prefabricated shower trays, load-bearing bonded waterproof membrane meeting ANSI A118.10, drainage membrane and other components specified in Section - and with setting materials for floor finish materials specified in Section 09 30 50 - Tile Setting Materials and Accessories*

3.4 PROTECTION

3.4.1 Protect installed products until completion of project.

3.4.2 Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
