Withdrawals must be made in writing or by email to be received by Thursday, 24 November 2016. Changes after 10.00 on 25November must be made at the competition 30 MINUTES before the start of the relevant class

This is an Area 13 Senior and JuniorTeamCompetition. This will be run as a single phase competition. In a “single phase” class faults are accumulated in both sections with all riders going through to the timed part of the course against the clock.

Senior or Junior teams of three or four

Novice: 80cm in the first section and 85cm in the second section

Intermediate:90cm in the first sectionand 95cm in the second section

Senior non-qualifying teams may include one Junior

***All competing Clubs MUST provide two helpers, names and contact details to be included on the entry form.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY/ RULE & REGULATIONS

1. (a) British Riding Club Rules apply – see Clause 2

(b) Venue rules and regulations apply at all times

2. The competition will be run under BRC rules for qualifying classes with the exception of beingrun as a single phase instead of 2 rounds and a jump off. A copy of the BRC rulebook is available from the BHS bookshop, online and will be available to view on the day. Only tack acceptable under these rules will be allowed.

3. Each Member must be a fully paid-up Member of the Riding Club they are representing. Juniors must be aged 17 years or under

4. HATS: ALL riders must wear correctly fitting approved protective headgear (as defined in the current BRC Official Rules). The headgear must have a retaining harness secured to the shell at more than two points. Headgear must be worn and be correctly fastened at ALL times when mounted. Riders’ hair must be neatly and firmly secured so it is no longer than shoulder length and longer hair to be secured in a hairnet

Hats must be checked and tagged (orange for 2016) and body protectors (if worn) will also be checked

5.Passports/Vaccination Certificates: The passport / equine influenza record foreach horse must be brought to the competition and will be checked on the day

6.The Organisersreserve the right to cancel, add or amend any of the classes,alter times, etc.as they see fit.

7. (a)The decision of the judge(s)is final

(b)Competitors may not approach the judge/s directly unless asked to do so. This also applies to family members and/or friends.

(c) Objections should be made in accordance with BRC Rules and/or the Organisers’ own Rules as set out in the Event Schedule

8.No horse/pony under the age of four years may compete and only horses or ponies COMPETING may be ridden on the showground.

9. Abuse

(a) ANY person, whether competitor, family or friend, found to be abusive to any judges, organisers or stewards will be reported to the relevant riding club and Area officials. The competitor could be eliminated and all parties could be asked to leave the showground. Remember ALL officials and stewards are volunteers

(b) ANY person or competitor seen to be misusing whips, equipment or acting in an abusive manner to any horse/pony will be eliminated and asked to leave the showground.

10.Health and Safety

(a) Precautionswill be taken to ensure the health and safety of ALL persons present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and to OBEY the instruction of the Organisers, the official BRC stewards and event stewards and officials

(b) Horses/ponies must not be tied up outside boxes/trailers and left unattended or tied to any fences

(c) If any horse/pony has been in contact with any infectious disease it should not attend any events untilit is certain that ALL risk of contamination has passed

11..Objections, accompanied by a £20 deposit, must be made to the Organisers in writing within 15 minutes of the incident. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained.

12. Disclaimer of Liability

The Organisers or Landowners shall not be liable for any claims for loss or damage to competitors / onlookers / their servants / horses /ponies /other livestock / pets / vehicles / equipment or any other items in connection with the Event or on the showground however caused.

Competitors are to satisfy themselves that they have assessed the risk factor in competing and it is a condition of entry that each participant will satisfy themselves as to their own ability to ride or handle their horse or pony safely and indemnify the Organisers against any accident or loss however caused

13. Stallionsmay compete in all classes at the Organisers’ discretion subject to the following:

(a) Stallions must wear a Stallion Disc on each side of their bridles and the correct coloured ribbons fixed in their tails (Red White & Blue)

(b) No person shall allow a stallion for which he, she or they are responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury

15. ANY NON BRC MEMBERS HANDLING OR RESPONSBILE FOR A HORSE AT A BRC EVENT MUST HAVE THEIR OWN THIRD PARTY INSURANCE.

16. In the event of cancellation, £2 of the entry fee will be retained to defray costs.

17. Please clear up all droppings, hay and litter.

18. DOGS.mustbe kept under control at all times. Please clean up any dog foul and use bins provided. ANY LOOSE DOGS ON THE SHOWGOUNDWILL BE CAUGHT AND A £20 DONATION TO CHARITY IS PAYABLE BEFORE DOG IS RETURNED!
