Who is it for?
To be on this course, you must have a comprehensive knowledge of modern arboricultural practice, particularlyrelating to tree climbing and rigging techniques and the associated equipment used in such operations.Typically, you will come from an arboricultural contracting background, but this also includes those involved in associated roles providing you have the relevant knowledge and experience of arboricultural equipment and thecircumstances in which it is commonly used.This course is for Arboricultural ‘competent persons’ as defined by Lifting Operations and Lifting EquipmentRegulations 1998 (LOLER). This course will typically suit you if you have a responsibility for ‘thorough examination’in the course of your work. Examples would include:
LOLER examiners
Supervisors and Foremen.
Please Note: For persons carrying out a thorough examination they must have appropriate practical and theoreticalknowledge and experience of the arboricultural lifting equipment to be thoroughly examined.

Demonstrate the ability to record findings of the thorough examination using the appropriate forms.
