Transylvania Volleyball would like for your daughter/son to join Head Volleyball Coach Amy Barmore and her staff for the 2018 summer elite volleyball camps. Amy Barmore and her staff will provide their knowledge within their volleyball skills.
Amy is entering her first year as a head coach. She was the assistant at Transylvania University 4 years prior to this new position. You can read more about her in her BIO or visittransysports.com.
This summer Transylvania Volleyball will be hosting the following camps…
Outside Hitter Camp
We will be focusing a lot on the passing aspects of the game during the first part of the session along with working on the mechanics of the arm swing. The second part of the session will be progressing into more game like situations that involve both the Outside Hitter and Right Side Hitter. This camp is for all levels of players as we will progress each drill according to the success of the player. If you are just starting out we will work with you to get you to understand the game from the Outside Hitter position and work through the early fundamentals that you will need to become successful. If you have played the position for a while you will progress on a track to teach you the different levels of the game and how we do things here at Transylvania Volleyball.

Defensive Specialist Day Camp
The Defensive Specialist camp will be a two-part camp that will focus on the defensive portion of the game as well as the serve receive aspect of the game. There will be a progression of each skill from the building of your platform to the actual movement of hitting the floor. This camp will teach you all of the skills and fundamentals that you will need to become the libero for your team.

Middle Blocker Camp
The Middle Blocker camp will be a camp that focuses on blocking, transitioning, and attacking from the Middle Blocker position. There will be a full progression of each skill and how they are used in gameplay throughout a match. Middle Blockers will also combine with setters to work on the connection with a live set.
We will work on all the different types of sets that a Middle Blocker hits along the net. Campers will receive a T‐Shirt.

Setter Camp
The Setter camp will be a camp that will have a full setter progression from the beginning stages and fundamentals of setting to the detailed decision making that goes into the setting position. We will work on setting to both pin hitters as well as working with Middle Blockers. This camp will also be broken down by ability/age level so that each group progresses at the pace that is adequate for each individual player. Campers will receive a T-Shirt.

All Skills Camp
- This camp provides the instruction on the five fundamentals of volleyball. Attacking, Passing, Setting, Serving, and Blocking
- Through high intensity drills, there will be technical and tactical instruction from the Transylvania coaching staff and current Transylvania players.
- Players will learn the various intermediate systems of offense and defense.
- There will also be daily camp team competitions.
- The campers will be split up by their age groups and skill level so that each camper is trained accordingly.
- Lunch will be provided.

General Information…
All camps will be held at the Transylvania Beck Center right here on campus. Parking is available around campus as well. You can drop off and pick up right outside of the beck center off of Broadway. The address to the University is 300 N. Broadway, Lexington, KY 40509. Registration will begin 1 hour prior to the camp.
The coaching staff supervises the participants during the instructional sessions and during the lunch break. No camper will be allowed to walk unsupervised throughout campus for any reason.
Everyone must register on Active (link at the bottom of the email) and when you register you will fill out a medical waiver.
You can go online at our ACTIVE SITE and register your daughter/son for any camp you would like. There are no age/grade restrictions for the individual skills camps. You will pay in full once you complete the online application. There will be no deposits.
