Week of September 26, 2016

10. We have done three safety drills this week. The drills were fire, tornado, and intruder. Some of us thought they were fun!
9. Thursday was parent math night and some parents came to learn about what we are doing in class.
8. In writing we are continuing to work on our personal narrative stories. Some of us are starting our final copy.
7. We have a reward sheet for turning in character cash and our full homework cards. This week we updated the list and added new rewards!
6. In counseling we read a book called The Worst Day of My Life, Ever and learned about how to be respectful when having a conversation (eye contact, focus, listening, body control, etc.)
5. We started topic 4 in math which is about MULTIPLICATION!!!
4. We had a dental assembly to learn about dental facts, keeping your mouth healthy, and how to brush your teeth appropriately.
3. Most of the reading groups have finished their books together. We’ve had great conversations and look forward to our next books.
1. Gabbie’s birthday is Saturday the 1st and we celebrated on Friday. She shares her birthday with Mr. Kenneth, our custodian.
1. Monday was our first character assembly. Brooklyn received the character award for RESPECT! The character word for October is RESPONSIBILITY.

Field Trip
Our field trip is October 5th to Legend of Kung Fu show. The show will start at 10:00 and conclude around 11:45. If you have paid and are joining us there, please arrive around 9:45 so you are able to sit with our class. If you have any questions let me know. We are excited about this fun day!!
Parent-Teacher conferences
Your child is bringing home a note for you to select three times that will work for you during the week before parent-teacher conferences (Oct. 24-27th). Please send this back to school as soon as you can so I can begin making the schedule and let you know of your conference time. If you do not see a time on there that works for you I’d be happy to speak with you and work something out. Looking forward to meeting with each of you about your child’s progress in 3rd grade.
