EDMARK PROGRAMS

There are several Edmark programs available throughout the district. Various programs have been networked onto computers at certain schools. The Edmark programs available at East Elementary include: Bailey’s Book House, Millie’s Math House, Sammy’s Science House, Mighty Math Carnival Countdown, Mighty Math Zoo Zillions, and Thinkin’ Things 1. Other programs which may be available in other schools include: Trudy’s Time & Place House, Mighty Math Calculating Crew, Mighty Math Number Heroes, Thinking’ Things 2, and Thinkin’ Things 3.

Bailey’s Book House

There are several activities within this program:

Edmo and Houdini

Edmo and Houdini play as they go in, out of, over, under, on, off, or behind the doghouse.

Three-Letter Carnival

The child will spell and sound out three-letter words.

Letter Machine

The child will recognize upper and lowercase letters and see the letters and hear the sounds as they are made.

Read-A-Rhyme

The child will choose words to complete rhymes illustrated with animation.

Make-a-Story

The child will choose characters, settings, and actions to create stories.

Kid Cards

Children can make their own gift cards, greeting cards, and invitations.

My Friend

The child can select words to describe the character’s hair, eyes, etc. and watch the friend change.

Mighty Math Zoo Zillions

For each of these activities, you are able to select a topic and level for the child to work. There are two modes: question and answer mode (where a character asks a question and is looking for a right answer) and explore and discover mode (where the child does whatever he would like). You are not able to enter the children’s names since there are more than 99 students at a school.

Fish Stories

The child can move fish in and out of tanks to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Gnu Ewe Boutique

The child can dress zoo animals in outfits as you learn about money.

3D Gallery

Students will sharpen their spatial skills and be able to use the shape stickers to make 3D pictures and designs.

Annie’s Jungle Trail

Students will review and practice math skills in a game format and can play with one or two players.

Number Line Express

Students will take animal friends to the right places by adding and subtracting.


Sammy’s Science House

There are the following activities in this program:

Workshop

Students can construct toys and machines by following blueprints.

Acorn Pond

Students can investigate plants and animals as they adapt to seasonal changes.

Weather Machine

Students can manipulate weather variables, listen to weather reports, and watch animations illustrating the weather you created.

Sorting Machine

Students can sort pictures into categories with the help of the friendly bins.

Make-a-Movie

Students arrange pictures in sequence to make movies.

Millie’s Math House

The following activities are in this program:

Little, Middle, & Big

Students compare and match sizes of shoes.

Bing & Bong

Students recognize patterns and create and complete patterns that are seen and hear.

Mouse House

Students identify and match geometric shapes.

Build-a-Bug

Students can hear and see numbers & the corresponding quantity.

What’s My Number?

Students can count or use addition and subtraction.

Number Machine

Students must recognize numerals.

Cookie Factory

Students count jellybeans to decorate cookies.

Travel the World with Timmy

There are 5 countries studied in this program: Japan, Russia, Argentina, France, and Kenya. In each country, you can choose from the six following activities. You can use the adult options to customize the program. Press Ctrl and Alt keys while holding down the "A" key.

Build-a-Village

Students can place from one to ten boys, girls cats, dogs, etc. in your village. Hear and see the numbers and corresponding quantities of items in different languages.

Make-a-Story

Choose a character, setting, and actions to create a story. See & hear your story read in English or a foreign language. Students can print their storybooks.

Sing-a-Song

Students can sing along with Timmy in different languages.

Art & Crafts

Students can create crafts from each country. Fun tools let you draw, stamp, and paint.

Games

Students enjoy games from around the world.

Theater

In Japan and Russia, students can color, print, and assemble your own theater.

Timmy’s Dictionary

Students can go to Timmy’s balloon or from any activity and open the talking dictionary.

Thinkin’ Science

Each ring on the radar screen leads to a different set of science challenges.

Fun Physics

Students can experiment with ramps, catapults, and pendulums to learn about the physics of motion.

Day and Night

Students can rotate a model of the earth to make different times of day and night.

Mystery Cave

Students can gather date to identify the mystery object hidden in the cave.

Animal Tracking

Students can determine the animal tracks by studying the shapes, pattern and sizes of animal tracks.

What Did You See?

Students will study the animals’ locations and place them in the correct places in the scenes.

Mighty Math Carnival Countdown

This program has the five following activities. For each of these activities, you are able to select a topic and level for the child to work. Giggle Factory

Students will explore the meanings of less than, greater than, and equal to by weighing different giggles.

Snap Clowns

Students add, subtract, multiply clowns to determine the correct answer.

Carnival Cars

Students use bumper cars to explore sets and Venn diagrams.

Pattern Block Roundup

Students paint, manipulate and measure shapes to explore basic geometry.

Bubble Band

Students can regroup through the use of bubbles.
