Statement of the Job

The Program Aide assists the Kids Cafe Department to reach the goals of High Plains Food Bank Kids Cafe Program The Program Aide reports directly to the Kids Cafe Coordinator and Kids Cafe Director

Supervise Volunteers:

Educate volunteers and/or other program collaborators on food service duties and clean up duties

Lead by example

Assist with Food Service:

Have utensils, trays, paper goods, etc… ready and counted for service

Record Keeping:

Daily meal count forms, Volunteer sign in sheets, Record temperatures, Adult sign in sheets, Weekly Product Order sheet, Time Sheets, Time off Requests, Other forms as requested

Provide Program/Educational Materials:

The Program Aide assists/provides the delivery of educational information to the assigned site.

After Food Service Duties:

Clean kitchen completely, Wash all dishes at the end of the food service, clean service line, Sweep and Mop area,

Store all chemicals/supplies in a secure area before leaving for the day

Duties of the Job

  1. Attend Food Safety Class and other required training *
  2. Take test for Food Handler’s certificate *
  3. Delivers educational programs using established curriculum.
  4. Maintains, records, files and submits periodic reports. *
  5. Tracks, monitors and / or evaluates participants / volunteer performance. *
  6. Collaborates with other organizations in the delivery of Kids Cafe Program *
  7. Utilizes volunteers to meet program goals.
  8. May use a variety of teaching methods to deliver established educational programs.
  9. Adheres to civil rights requirements and tracks and reports civil rights activities as

required by the federal sponsor. *

  2. Coordinates activities to meet program goals.
  3. Must have the ability to work independently
  4. Work requires judgment, initiative and commitment to confidentiality.
  5. Employee must have the ability to make decisions regarding personal safety and the safety of participants.
  6. Other duties as assigned
