The Wigs & Make-up department has an immediate vacancy for a full-time

HAIR, WIGS & MAKE-UP ARTIST (M/F)

(38 hours per week)

As a hair, wigs and make-up artist, you will join a team of 11 hair and make-up artists in the Wigs & Make-up department. The tasks for this vacancy concern mainly creating hairpieces. You will also occasionally do the make-up of the performing artists in productions by Dutch National Opera and Dutch National Ballet.

Candidates are required to:

·  have completed training as a hair artist;

·  have several years’ experience of hair and make-up in the theatre world;

·  have knowledge of historical hairstyles and character make-up;

·  have knowledge of modern techniques in the field of hair and make-up;

·  be fluent in English and German;

·  have a representative, well-groomed appearance;

·  have an amicable and service-oriented attitude;

·  be willing to work irregular hours and at weekends;

·  be able to work flexibly and independently in a dynamic work environment.

The appointment is initially for a fixed period of one year. On commencing employment, Dutch National Opera & Ballet offers a minimum salary of € 1.805,00 and a maximum salary of € 2.577,00 gross per month, according to The Amsterdam Music Theatre collective labour agreement. This amount is exclusive of 8% holiday allowance and an end of the year bonus. There will be worked according to a regular labor pattern. When it is necessary to work in the evenings related to performances, then a overtime allowance is applied.
