The Tricky Monkey in Mt. Kenya

Setting:

Mt. Kenya, Deep wide long river is at the bottom of the mountain, It is an extinct volcano which is hard, sharp, rough, rocky, and gigantic, rainy season, over 300 hundred plants cover the mountain, thousands of dark green shrubs, enormous amounts of snow cover the top off of the mountain

Characters:

Sprinkles: Lion. Gigantic, 60 years old, helpful

Joe: Monkey, humongous, 18 years old, lazy, cunning

Jake: Elephant, tiny, 5 years old, friendly

Story:

A long time ago, next to a large river, there lives an elephant named Jake’s hut. The elephant, Jake, lets his trunk rest as he sleeps. Outside of the hut lives a bunch of monkeys. They live in the shrubs and like to play. The monkeys always say, “We love to play.” As the monkey’s play, Joe begins to think about tricks he can play on Jake.

Joe freezes and says, “I’d like to play a trick. I’m going to scare Jake, the elephant. I’m going to set a trap for him.” Joe peeks through the window and see the elephant sleeping. He decides to set a trap for Jake. He sets the trap and hides. After a minute, he comes out and screams “ROAR.”

Jake, the elephant, wakes up with a start and screams, “Who is roaring?” Jakes looks around and doesn’t see anyone. The he sees a bowl of ugali. He reaches for it and begins to eat. Suddenly, a rope pulls him up and traps him in a shrub.

He shouts “Who is doing this? Who is being sneaky? Then he sees the monkey, Joe. While the elephant was stuck in the trap, a lion, named Sprinkles walks by. He is shocked to see the elephant, Jake, hanging by a rope.

Sprinkles says, “Are you okay?

Jake responds, “No, my trunk hurts.” Sprinkles helps the elephant out of the trap. Next, he calls a meeting with all of the animals in Mt. Kenya. They decide to make the monkey, Joe, apologize to the elephant and promise to never play a trick like that again.

Joe says, “I’m sorry. I’ll never play a trick on you again. Everyone in Mt. Kenya lives happily ever after.

The end
