Dear Parents,

The students of Deptford Township High School are being offered a great opportunity to help prepare them for the SAT's. Private preparatory courses usually cost between $500.00 and $800.00 for

a 36 hour program. We have put together an opportunity for our students to receive an SAT prep class in the evenings for a cost of $160.00. Students will purchase their own book.

The course will be taught for six weeks by our staff members meeting Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The week before Easter class will meet Tuesday and Wednesday. The starting date will be March 14 and the last class will be April 27. The classes will meet from 5:45 PM to 9:00 PM and the students will receive 1-1/2 hours of math and 1-1/2 hours of language arts instruction. A break time will be provided from 7:15 to 7:30. May 2nd will be used as a make-up day if class is cancelled due to inclement weather.

The prerequisite courses that must be completed in order to be admitted to this program and do well on the SAT's are as follows:

Algebra I and Geometry with a grade of C or better

Language Arts, grade 9 and 10, with a grade of C or better

This is not a place to learn the prerequisite courses; it is simply a class to prepare them for the SAT's. This program is strictly for the serious student interested in improving their SAT scores. Any uncooperative students will be asked to leave and be excluded from the program with no refund.

The class is limited to a maximum of 40 students. Please reserve your child's space as soon as possible by completing the attached registration form and submitting it to the guidance department secretary, Ms. Stetson, along with a check for $160.00 made payable to Deptford Township High School no later than March 2nd.

Sincerely,

Melvin N. Allen
